Howard S. Billings Regional High School opened its doors in 1967. Built on the sites of what was Maple Elementary and Chateauguay High Schools, “Billings” is named after a most distinguished educator, Dr. Howard S. Billings, late associate Deputy Minister of Education of Quebec. At that time, 1,532 students filled this high school to its capacity. At its “peak” in the 1970s, “HSB” was bursting at the seams and home to almost 3,000 students.
Today, Billings has a student population of 1,000 from Secondary I to V (grades 7 through 11). Our students receive an outstanding educational experience in both English and French. Specialized programs and diverse learning opportunities ensure that the individual needs of each student are met. Numerous extra-curricular activities including student leadership opportunities, special events, our Billings Blazers athletic teams, and numerous artistic and cultural groups complement our academic programs and ensure our students not only receive an outstanding education, but develop their interests and excel as part of the Billings family.
