House of James Coffeeshop

Our families favorite locally owned bookstore. Amazing selection of new & used books, music, Bibles, great gift selection & cards, toys, games & puzzles. They also have a coffee shop that serves coffee, gelato, baking and salads, soups and entrées.

Loved the vibe of House of James for my first time going to the store. It’s a local Christian book store with a ton of variety and a huge used section that you can check out. Has 2 floors and a coffee shop in it as well. Ended up buying 4 books and stayed there for about 2 hours! No complaints :

We visit this Christian bookstore and it is fun place for all ages. Even has kids reading cute area. Most of all, we really enjoy the Cafe. Their London Fog is Signature I always get it in Goliath size. I recommend!

Love the shop. My only added wish is that they'd begin to carry more Puritan and classical work, and less health/wealth and lifestyle content. There is totally a market in the Fraser Valley for hard to find pre-20th century works. They have some, but it's very limited. Sometimes you get lucky in the used book section, but I'd love to buy new.

I purchased a very pretty star light they had hanging so nicely in the store. It was a very disappointing purchase, I got it home, went to put it up today, it wont hang properly, you see they displayed it without the battery pack, so it hung perfectly. When you put the batteries in, it doesn’t hang down, it hangs sideways. It was $35 I should not have spent. I don’t have the receipt so I can’t return it. It’s a useless $35 piece of junk. Thanks for misrepresenting your product and ripping me off. Won’t be back to your store I don’t have the money to buy something for just me very often, so this was truly a disappointment

Dropped by today, a small vegan gelato, it was superb! Friendly service always I usually go there for espresso I am a happy customer everytime I go! Thank you!

Nice calm atmosphere. The store sells a lot of different things from homemade jewelry to jigsaw puzzles to t-shirts. They even have a jigsaw puzzle on the go for anyone who wants to participate. I haven't eaten here, but the restaurant section is very nicely laid out and it smells wonderful. I come here each week to pick up my organic vegetables from the grower and finally ventured inside yesterday. I'll probably come back just to look around some more.

I am giving this place 5 stars because they are really THE BEST book store/gift shop and Coffee House in Abbotsford!! Their Panini’s are Daily Soups are literally amazing! On a side note, I got a berry fruit muffin that, let’s say, was not the best I had so far and when I asked about the policy to see if I can actually refuse it they were open to let me exchange it for a different pastry. So THANK YOU! And thank you for feeding my husband Home Made Food when he has jobs in Abbotsford! I’m jealous sometimes, wishing to be there and have a hot soup and a delicious panini together!
