Absolutely delicious grapefruit mojito, chicken is well seasoned but do not like cut, fries are good, bathroom is thin but long, weird experience, wouldn't mind coming back Parking: 9 spots on the street, it is Yonge Street after all
The fourth time I came here to order fried chicken, I ordered a chicken and wings. The chicken and wings are really crunchy and they have a supper good texturethe sauce is tasty and the size is great. I also orderd a lychee-flavored sparkling water, which was nice and not too sweet. Hot star large fried chicken is the best fried chicken store I've ever had in Toronto! Thank you for your enthusiastic service and yummy food
Used to come here for the big chicken but decided to try something new today. Order the popcorn chicken bento box and it wasn't disappointed me. Good taste.
I had been wanting to try this place for a while so I finally ordered the Korean style chicken wings which come in a sweet delicious sauce. The chicken was so tender but the outside of the wing was so deliciously crunchy. I can’t wait to come back and try more items off the menu. The service was really friendly.
The extra large Taiwanese fried chicken is really tasty. Room for improvement, the staffs should really pay attention to customers. Both were busy chatting and kinda of giving me the impression that they're ignoring customers.
Crispy and moist and ridiculously HUGE!!! Taiwanese large fried chicken. Seen it before and finally got to try it. Not disappointed at all. Least to say, I couldn’t finish the combo that comes with some nice soda water drinks and fries. I think that the combo with just the drink is definitely enough to fill you up, but if you decide to go with the fries and drink combo, it’s definitely a shareable plate. Had the large spicy crispy fried chicken and another person had the cheese fried chicken. The spicy chicken brought on tons of heat but a lot of nice flavour. The cheese fried chicken was just rammed with cheese just waiting to spill over. Great job. Definitely going to go back and try more! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for more pics and content!
I have visited this place 4 times now as of today Dec. 25th Christmas! In the past, I tried the snack items on the menu popcorn chicken - salt and pepper and the fried oyster mushrooms. I decided today to take a leap and try their Original Chicken which was XXL size. I did takeout covid reasons and brought it home. It still was really good, nice and tender and with a crisp, even when I brought it home. It was perfect! I give this place 4 stars because I found it to be a bit costly. Visited today and service was good; the person at the counter was helpful, nice and . Highly recommended. The place was clean, neat and well lit. Note: washrooms are not open for public use due to covid19. I purchased the chicken tenders. Small portion.
How was the experience? First of all, I gotta say. It is better if you order before hand and then just come and pick up your food. we waited for more than half an hour to get 6 pieces of fried chicken, and the shop was pretty much empty at the time. I can’t imagine how slow it would be if the store was full. However, at the end of the wait, the chicken turned to be pretty good, that is why it remained a 3 star. I have to say their chicken is really juicy, but at the same time I somehow feel it is too oily as well. their fried chicken is a little different than all the Korean fried chicken around the area. the skin of the chicken is very hard like charcoal, but not in a bad way. it is actually quite unique and tasty. their seasoning is good too Would I recommend? Yes interesting to try, but probably not too many times. I can feel that it’ll get sickening pretty quickly.
Deep Fried Chicken wings are extraterrestrial over here! Easy to fall addict. Super tasty and it feels healthy. Recommend
The chicken here really does live up to its name as the piece you get is huge. However, the size is the only remarkable thing about this Taiwanese fried chicken chain. I ordered the original large fried chicken with what I assume was the salt and pepper seasoning, as I was only given the choice of spicy or not, and none of the other choices were mentioned. The chicken comes out piping hot, is seasoned well, and is actually quite moist and not dry at all, right down to the bones yes there are bones, it's not a big deal as it's only at the very bottom of the cutlet. However, due to the size, eating the entire thing can become tiresome. It's just all fried chicken. I would say this doesn't really work as a meal, but rather serves better as a snack to share between two people. Also, a few different sauces to dip in would give some relief from the monotony of eating this entire cutlet. Service here was slower than expected as I had to wait around 10 minutes for my order of just one cutlet. I guess I was expecting the quickness of fast food, but if they fry each piece to order, 10 minutes wasn't so bad to wait. At first glance, $9.99 for just a piece of fried chicken may seem overpriced, but considering its size, I would say it's quite reasonable. The other items on their menu also look decently priced. Overall, I found the chicken here to be just ok. It was huge, crispy, and tasted good, but due to its size and lack of accompanying sides or sauces, it was just bite after bite of the same thing. Again, I would recommend this as a quick snack to share instead of as a meal.
