This place is okay. The bouncy castles are fun for the kids but they seem quite old and filthy. The animals don’t seem super happy here. They have kids helmets to wear to ride the mini horses but they don’t have any spray to wash them in between uses. It’s nice that they have free coffee and hot chocolate but it would’ve great if they didn’t use styrofoam cups, something more eco friendly would be better. Staff are really friendly and the wagon ride was really fun!!
This was back in 2017, but when I attended one of the pony camps as a younger child it was pretty questionable looking back at it. The horses are all crusty and overused, credits to them for putting up with us kids. The barn is dusty and dirty, with tacked-up horses waiting inside the stalls. During the actual riding time which was pretty short compared to the rest of the day we would only walk around a couple of laps and maybe do balance excercises omigosh what a pro you are for balancing at a walk! with a horse camper leading you around. Here's the issue, at one point some horse camper forgot to tighten the cinch tight enough and a little girl fell underneath the horse. obviously a confidence knocker for someone whos only ridden maybe a few times. I was put on the same horse next since its tOtaLly the horses fault that someone didnt know to tack up the horse correctly. Another time a pony trotted off with a tiny kid whilst an inexperienced handler ran alongside it. If you're going to have people lead an inexperienced rider around, AT LEAST have the leader be an experienced rider. The website said we would learn how to take care of a horse and brush them, but ya... that never happened! So long story short, as an actual experienced hunter jumper I must say that I have experienced many red flags at this place, so stay cautious.
Neglected horses. I am reporting this company to spca and the humane society to investigate for animal abuse / neglect. My wife bought a horse from them and I’m only commented on their treatment lack thereof of horses and not any actual experiences. As mentioned by another commenter the “stables” are in extremely poor conditions. The two horses we looked at were quite skinny and cachectic. You shouldn’t be able to see horses’ rib cages so easily but these 2 horses you could definitively see ribs. They had significant muscle loss at the hips and pelvis area. Their hooves and teeth didn’t look regularly tended too. Our suspicions of underweight / underfed were confirmed by a vet. Subjectively, the horses had very sad expressions and body language. Our horses mane and tail were extremely tangled. Judging by our horse’s caked on dirt ie dirty even for a horse and his huge reaction to us showering him, I am guessing he was never cleaned or very well cared for. I recognize I may sound resentful as we had bought a horse from them. In retrospect, we probably should have done more due diligence before buying the horse. That said, we love our horse and are gladly fattening him up and find comfort that he now has a much much happier life. The more time ~1 month we spend w him the more we notice his signs of neglect and how shy and scared he is. I will echo: if you care about horses and their treatment I suggest avoiding this company or, at least, challenging them on their treatment practices of their horses.
It’s been a really positive experience for me. Compared to other barns I’ve ridden at previously, this one has a great vibe and my favourite by far. The coaches are super experienced, positive, encouraging and welcoming. The facility is well managed and tidy.
The communication with the trainers were always quick, professional and comprehensive. The on-site staff members were friendly and knowledgeable. They introduced our kids how to ride a horse for the first time. They both expressed what a great time they had afterwards and how they wanted to ride again soon. I highly recommended Horsin Around.
Horsin around was a wonderful experience! the horses where happy and the instructors where super helpful, kind and fun. I’ve now taken 3 of my nieces/nephews on different occasions, we will back again.
Had an amazing experience with Horsin Around. this place is incredible! Beautiful facility and fantastic people working here. Have seen other bad reviews but after reading them I'm not certain anything would please these people. Some have nothing better to do than look for things to complain about I swear. my experience here has been stellar. Quick and friendly communication, professional staff, beautiful horses and facilities, wonderful lessons brining so much joy to my family. Highly recommended.
Read the reviews for here after I booked it, they had me worried! But turns out I had nothing to worry about, the place was great. Took 4 kids here as a birthday treat for my daughter and they all loved it, they keep talking about it even a few weeks later asking to return here. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful too.
Very fun! Lots to do. We got a family Groupon and it was great value. Unlimited pony and hay rides!
03/18/17 - This past weekend we held my nieces birthday party here and the kids loved it! The staff were courteous and it was what you should expect at a farm. BRING your boots and expect to get muddy!!! *NOTE* - Google Maps had the old location which was actually 11+ kms south of the actual location! I spoke with the owner and he had said he had such frustrations for months trying to update it to the new location. I was able to update the location marker instantly which shows the importance of local guides helping small local businesses connect to their clientele! If a business you are visiting is not marked where it should be, please help update it for your neighbours
