Attended the outdoor art show today at the Homer Watson art gallery. It was a lovely time! Lots of original art with the artists engaging with customers strolling around the property. The inside of the gallery has art installations from the Watson family along with local artists. Definitely worth a view and the grounds are beautiful. Try to make a small donation inside the gallery itself, they ask for $5 but in these times I'm sure they can use a little more!
True naturalism. Homer Watson valued capturing naturalism, and the staff here are great at sharing that passionate appreciation. Whether by the art classes or exhibitions, the spirit of loving life through nature is here. It's a small gallery, and they use this space as best as they can. Constant rotations and care is put here. If you're in the region and want a moment of historical peace, visit!
Today i speak of Homer Watson house, in his time he was described as the Canadian Constable. Some would argue the Group of Seven copied him, some would say he them.Myself I find he is a tad more realistic and somehow brighter. Two of his pieces were purchased by Queen Victoria's man in Canada. I am sure he has an official title. As I have often said small town Canada museums and galleries are the heart and soul of this country. The staff and volunteers here work hard and well to make sure there is always something to ignite interest. I heartily recommend the 1 hour or so drive. May I suggest a Saturday drive and then explore Kitchener and surrounding are.
My son enjoyed the art camp. Thank you for promoting imagination and self expression
Great memories of going to their art camp when I was a child. And more great memories again when I did an art class here this past December. A very welcoming environment with affordable clases/camps.
A quaint house of famed painter Homer Watson. I went to see a photography display of a colleague. Interesting history of the site and good walking trails nearby.
Beautiful vintage Gallery with wonderful art work. I have been fortunate to photograph events here as well as families. A few years ago, I was fortunate to be wed here. This place holds a special place in my heart.
Nice place for kids in summer camp. My daughter loved all the things that she learned there. She wants to come back asap. Staff was great as well.
This picturesque art gallery is intimate with a great exhibition of local art. The staff are also very welcoming. It also hosts art classes!
I was recently at a wedding at Homer Watson House and it was wonderful. It is a beautiful intimate space, great for a 40-50 person event. The staff there are lovely, especially Lisbeth :
