Exactly what the name implies. Nothing fancy and hipster, just a good old fashioned well run home-styled diner. Great reliable basic cooking, served with a friendly attitude and a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Decor is basic but clean. All workers were strictly following the COVID rules. Food was hearty but a little plain. Not necessarily a bad thing. Good portions and good prices/value. Trish was a great waitress! Washrooms were clean and nicer than the average family diner. Lots of yummy baking for take home at the entrance.
Went here for a Pre-Christmas late luncheon ... restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays, the waiter was super friendly, accommodating, helpful & courteous, the food was yummy and the portions filling. Definitely recommend!!Food: 4/5
Carole thank you for your awesome service and morning smiles. Service was top notch. I had the 1/2 stack apple cinnamon and pecan pancakes with bacon. Hubby had an omelette and added onions and cheese. Absolutely delicious! The home fries are another level...probably one of the best in town, add the onions and pepper and that is a first class act! Coffee was also good! On our way out checked out the bakery items...a chocolate cheesecake caught my attention, so I am definetely coming back. Cozy, nicely decorated, loved the church benches and the pics on the wall. Nicely done!!! Strongly recommend
We had a great breakfast here. Very reasonable prices. Service was also excellent. They were kind and speedy and eager to give refills on coffee.
A true home style cooking restaurant. They make everything themselves, including the gravy. And it all tastes delicious. I have eaten here lots of times for more than 10 years, and have left satisfied every time. Service is always friendly and efficient. And I love that they offer smaller portions as well. Atmosphere is a large room, with 4-chair round tables as well as a banquette with rectangular tables along the full length of one wall. I definitely recommend Homestyle if you're hankering home-made, good-for-you food, away from home .
I've only been living in Waterloo for a few weeks, and I've already come to eat here five times, so if that isn't a kind of endorsement in and of itself, I don't know what is. The food is quite good, and the servers are quite friendly and attentive. It can get quite busy, even on weekdays, but I've never had to wait to be seated. Would definitely recommend to anyone desiring a classic diner experience.
After being away from town for 23 years, I was pleasantly surprised to find Homestyle Diner still in business. Good food and good people. It was a regular place for me to go for breakfast back then, and I imagine it will be again.Food: 5/5
Amazing atmosphere with exceptional service... Food came out fresh and hot! Pricing is very reasonable.. You can understand why it's always busy!!! Highly recommended!!!
Great breakfast place. Tried the daily special omelette and benedict and both were fabulous... The coffee too was perfect for me!
Went yesterday with the missus. Staff was very friendly and the Diner had a nice welcoming vibe. Food was delicious and portions were perfect. Nicely priced compared to other breakfast places. Definitely recommend the Skor Cheesecake.
