Oops I made a mistake. I didn’t clearly explain to the hipster at the paint counter that I wanted a clear stain to bring out the cedar siding of my new shed. When I opened the can up I realized my mistake because the contents were like a paint instead of a stain. When I went to correct my error I doubled my mistake by not realizing that the paint I purchased was a final sale. No returns. So I bought the stain that I wanted and went home and explained that they wouldn’t return it. My husband was annoyed because we finished a massive renovation of our home and we made a concerted effort to purchase local. 300 thousand Reno We have been in home hardware and know most of the staff without looking at their name tag. My husband returned the 150 dollars worth of stain that I had just purchased. And he told me That they wanted To get a manager to return the stain that I had just tried to return unsuccessfully. But that opportunity was long gone for him as he felt that they should have made it right the first time. My husband then annoyed me by telling me that he place the 2 Cans of stain that was paint like that was a final sale on the floor next to the counter And told them it wasn’t about the money it was about customer service. And go ahead and sell it again. Just be sure to explain that it’s a final sale. And more importantly when you ask for advice and the paint guy gives you the wrong stuff… maybe make it right the first time. Side note he will never go to home hardware again. He is just that stubborn. But he does love to tell stories. And he will tell this one Over and over again
The store is clean and well organized. Staff is friendly. Daniel was extremely helpful with us trying to find the correct size screws. Thank you Daniel!
Always a wonderful place to go. I especially like their basement with the room they stock for the various times of year, i.e. Christmas. I refer to it as my Christmas store lol
Great service, super friendly and willing to help. Will go here again for sure!! But Not very impressed that these guys don't back the products that they sell. Even if they are broken before you buy them they will not give you a discount on it.
Our contractor was helping us get a hot water tank, which we got a quote on, but the Contractor Desk guy had gone put for lunch and the Manager would not honour the quote "because Home Hardware does not give discounts on hot water tanks," so we would have to come back when he was back from lunch and talk to him. Our contractor then checked around and found one for less on sale elsewhere and Home lost the sale.
The staff is really friendly. Had problems when ordering items to the store. I got a message I could pick it up, when I arrive they missed a step and I had to wait for the manager to finish an interview. Was there for 20+min. Had problems with flooring that I bought about 1000 square feet, was able to return it without any problems and got my money back. They have great selection of everything. Would like a better selection of pex connections.
Has ample building supplies for builders. They do not carry camping supplies or BBQs. Yet they have a lovely selection of smokers.
Awesome customer service from Azalya at this store. Had a unique project that I needed assistance with, and even as everyone in town was on edge with the nearby wildfires, she worked with me throughout the whole complex process to make sure it was done seamlessly. Great experience altogether.
A bit pricey but the staff is super friendly
Everyone is such a race to get out of there they like to close the store 10 minutes earlier then closing time....
