This place is a gem. Lovely old home on Main Street in Listowel. Dining area is well set up, and lots of the old, timeless architecture has been kept up or enhanced. I liked all the signature pear accents from the menu logo, to the frosted logo on the window panes, to the centrepieces on each table. But it’s the food! Oh so delicious. We had an appetizer, entree and dessert. We finished them all. Portion sizes are not huge, but I must say, we both left this place feeling very satiated and satisfied. Each course was well presented, and a joy to savour and devour. Server was super attentive and willing to make our experience very enjoyable. We will stop by whenever we are nearby. Highly recommend.
The dining room is elegant and homey at the same time. We had the salmon and the pasta for dinner. Fantastic! Because dinner was so good, we opted for dessert as well, a very good decision. The vanilla creme brule and chocolate cheesecake were delicious. The hosts are such a lovely family, I recommend 10/10 I didn't think to get pictures of dessert, I was too absorbed in the experience. A double plus for accommodating us "out of towners" even through some unexpected equipment failure. We loved the food, we loved the atmosphere. Well done!
We just had a lovely dinner. My husband enjoyed the steak while I had the ravioli. Our server, Jessika, was most helpful with our menu choices and just made the whole dining experience that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Stopped in for a date night, after hearing about it on the radio. Fell in love and will most certainly be back! It’s a modern feel, with the original charm of the home. The menu was delicious and very reasonably priced. Everything made in house, right down to the bread and butter, and the chef does an amazing job! Alcohol I had wine was a tad over priced for market value, but even with that it was still a reasonable bill. Highly recommend!
This place is a hidden gem among Listowel. The food was presented very well and just what you would expect for fine dining. The temperature, and texture of the proteins and vegetables were spot on. You can tell the chefs here take pride in their dishes. I'd love to give a high five to the chefs because they nailed every palate I was expecting. The etiquette from the waitresses was spot on. Every utensil was properly placed, the food was served from the correct sides, and the drinks were always being refreshed. I'd like to give both the ladies who served us a 10/10 and as a person who has fine dined many times in my life I would say this is the missing part in a lot of fine dining restaurants. Not at hom though! Great work ladies. The atmosphere I can't speak enough about. It's truly a one of a kind experience. We had a rather large party and I can't believe I didn't take pictures but I'll be back to update my review with some. For me this is truly worth every penny you'll spend. There is a reason this place won an award for one of the best businesses in town. Kudos to the hom team. My hat is off for you all! ‍ Now my rant about low star reviews. I find any of the low star reviews have nothing to do with the quality of the food, and/or the people have never fine dined as they're expectations of a large meal isn't how fine dining works and pricing is never based on the quantity but the quality. And the quality here is exactly what I would expect as a foodie. People must remember giving a 1 star review is a slap in the face and if you have 1 thing wrong then you should bring it to their attention personally before you jump to a conclusion that the "wait time" is what made you upset but you're happy with everything else. Also if you're aiming for a low price point at a fine dining restaurant you may want to visit more fine dining restaurants because a special means its something special. If you aren't asking for the price that's on you. This is a new business so absolutely they'll have staffing issues during post covid. You'd think at this point we as humans can relate to this. Quite disappointed that some local people here would do this to a place that truly is doing a fantastic job.
We were delighted with our recent dining experience. The food was delicious and thank you to Chris, owner and chef for the great evening of fine dining. Also the staff were very attentive and service was exceptional. We will definitely dine there again. The historic home is beautiful and surroundings made it so homey!
Our waitress was very sweet, and overall the food was good. However, it was the slowest meal I have ever had. We were there for 3 hours, with half our table doing the tasting menu and half ordering items of the regular menu. They did 2 dishes of the testing menu, which was just over an hour. With the 3rd dish the rest of us were served dinner. At this point it was almost an hour and twenty minutes since we ordered. We all then waited for the following 2 courses for those doing the testing menu. By the time most of us got our food we were starving, and by the time we left, we were all impatient and exhausted.
Ordered the special as we were travelling. Most expensive dish on the menu!!! The waitress did not tell us this and we assumed that it would be less expensive being a special! And we didn't really find it that wonderful.
Fine dining for sure! The food was really good. I found the portions really small for the price. We waited more than an hour for our food. By the time we had eaten we were informed we would have to get dessert to go because there was another group waiting for the table.
The holiday menu is not to be missed! It is excellent. The service, food and attention to special requests cannot be beaten! Thank you! Looking forward to our return visit soon!
