First time visiting this excellent BBQ restaurant. I had the trifecta pork platter and was delighted. The meats pulled pork, sliced pork, and ribs were lightly smoked and perfectly done. In my opinion, the amount of smoke flavor in BBQ is a personal preference. The sauces available are the real star of the BBQ. Sweet, mustard, and spicy The sweet may be my favorite "sweet" sauce I've had at a restaurant. Reminds me of maybe an Alabama or Georgia sauce. Fantastic. The surprise contender is the mustard sauce! Not usually my go to sauce but wow! I loved it. The spicy sauce was okay. It's got a flavor to it that is probably a "like it or you don't" situation. In other words, it's not just a hot version of the Sweet. To sum up, I really enjoyed my dinner and can't wait to come back and try other offerings.
This place was beyond great from the food to just the overall experience. The burnt ends had me at the fat-cap hello as soon as it visited me at the table... Then I ordered the trio of meats ribs, pulled pork and sliced pork... All of it was juicy and tender, with the ribs having a great smoke and fall off the bone bite. Sides I went with was the garlic mash potatoes and potato salad and cornbread super good buttery and more cakey instead of dense. I also got the porkanator sandwich/dog and that was a super meal just in it's self! Wife and son were super happy and it was only about a week ago and my wife is already wanting to go back... we live over an hour one way and I would recommend and I will be back many times to this great establishment!
This place may have a new building but they have been serving the community thier delicious BBQ with a spin for years. The pulled pork Mac and cheese is the best I have ever had and is a must. Love to see pork belly burnt ends on the menu and looking forward to the specials hopefully Chattanooga Chicken makes a visit. All sauces are homemade with Mustard being my favorite. With the addition of a deep fryer it has open the door to awesome menu additions like Dr. Smokes egg rolls and the new flavorful campfire sauce. What a great addition to the community and food scene. Do yourself a favor and stop by Holy Smokers for a meal
I've been here twice now and am blown away! The pulled pork and brisket have been some of the best I've ever had! Neither need sauce, but the sauces they have available are very good. The spicy barbecue has a good kick, but isn't too strong and the mustard barbecue has a nice vinegar flavor. The cornbread is excellent and I really like the coleslaw and BBQ baked beans I don't normally enjoy baked beans. I would give them more than 5 starts if I could.
This is a great additional restaurant to the Holland area! The dining area is comfortable and clean and bathrooms are singles only, also clean.Food: 5/5
Average bbq I really love smoked ribs and do have a high standard but these just did not work for me. I had rib platter 3 ribs with layer of fat on bottom and very little smoke flavor tasted more like oven made with smoke rub. Mashed potatoes - good Green beans had pork but tougher beans. Corn bread okay... for $15 plus $2 for drink and tip $20+ note best value Nice people though.
Excellent food, service and that “something special” is behind every dish served here. From the seasoning to the sauce Holy Smokers BBQ is a local gem that rivals the national players. Keep an eye out for their rotating specials and you will find BBQ sundaes, juicy brisket, and my favorite burnt ends. Just make sure you don’t come late as they sell out quick. Price and portions are great, and if you haven’t had it before you’re missing out on one of the areas best!
Was so excited to finally make it down here, I live an hour away. I ordered food to go for my husband as well. I ate mine at the restaurant, first time customer. I asked for one of each side sauces to go for my husband because I wasn’t sure what he was gonna want. Well apparently you can only get one, wasn’t offered the option to buy the other two either, which I would have done. Honestly it was good food, but just as good as dickeys in muskegon 10min from my house.
Place was clean and nice. Staff was friendly. Which makes me feel bad for the bad review. It was very expensive for the quality. The coleslaw, mac and cheese, and potatoe salad tasted like store bought at best at $3 and some change per side. The beans were not good at all. Meats and buns were very low quality also. Unfortunately I will not be back. I wish I could have said otherwise. The portions were not small but still not worth the money.
Quiet little bbq place, fast food style. We sat and enjoyed ourselves for a few after we finished eating. Small place but good.Food: 5/5
