We anchored in the northern area of Holbrook harbor for a few days in August. The harbor offers good holding and there are also a few guest moorings available in the harbor. The trails on Holbrook Island are very well maintained and offer excellent views. The stone beach at the north end of the cape offers warm water when the tide rises over the stones in the afternoon. The photo is a view from our boat looking south as the catboat Penelope makes her way out of the harbor. There was plenty of wildlife, eagles, seals, etc. The town of Castine is just about 1 nm north and is easily accessible by dinghy.

Dirt roads. Out houses. No other amenities. Beautiful location for hiking in the woods, enjoying nature and a gravel beach for swimming. Great waterviews. I loved it my wife complained a lot about the bugs. Good place for long sleeves and pants tucked into your socks and lots of insect repellant.

This is a great park. Quiet walking trails. Local history, enjoyed by bird lovers, great beach and picnic area. Free!
