It’s a beautiful old mansion very close to the capitol building. This old edifice of democracy has witnessed so many historic moment. It is free to visit and the rooms are well curated. We have a great time exploring the Governor House and learning about history! The staff is friendly and dedicated to share information about history facts. The entry is free but you can give a donation. The house is fantastic. Stop by this place if you are in downtown Wyoming!
We loved this place. Just decided to explore it when going for a walk and it didn't disappoint. We've talked to our relatives who are local and told them they should visit this gem. It made me want to know more about Wyoming history.
The self tour is free but a donation are appreciated. This place was cool to see along with a lot of original or replica pieces. You can take photos within the place. Probably will take you about 1hr to do the whole place but also depends on your speed. They have toilets on property.
Had been meaning to visit this for years! Surprised at how large the rooms were for such an old structure, beautiful antique furnishings. Not handicap accessible, many stairs. Self guided tour, information spots to text for information throughout home.
Great place to visit and explore! I worked here the summer after high school. I learned a lot and got to Meet so many wonderful ancestors and first family members of previous Wyoming Governors. This Mansion is a gem in Cheyenne and a must see if you enjoy architecture and history this is the place for you!
A beautiful place. Each room has been restored beautifully.
I love history! The old Governors mansion, here in Cheyenne, is one of my favorite kind of museums, free! I was allow about an hour or so to go through it, depending on how much time you want to spend, but the different areas of the house are dated in different eras from when is started in the early 1900s, through when it was decommissioned about a decade or two ago in the early 2000s. The staff are friendly, and willing to answer any questions you have. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are a history buff like my wife and I, and it is a great opportunity if you have kids, to show them how things have changed throughout the generations.

Wow! Incredible preservation of history. So much to learn and see here. A must visit in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Absolutely wonderful.
