Absolutely LOVE this new restaurant. As soon as you step into Historia Cantina, it’s such a vibe with all the greenery. You are warmly welcomed by a host and promptly seated at your table. I have been to this restaurant 4 times since it’s opened and the service and food is always 10/10. I am usually accompanied by my large family, so we have almost ordered everything off the menu and of course shared, and your taste buds will bring you right back again and again. The Mexican street corn is a favourite shared dish, although we now order our own- no sharing here, it’s too good. All the tacos have the right amount of fillings cooked to perfection. The drinks are perfectly curated, and are insanely delicious! Again, we have ordered almost every single cocktail, and they are dangerously yummy. Highly recommend bringing your friends and family here, and you will quickly become family to them. Great job ladies & gents!
Sweet new spot to check out on Main Street Schomberg! The vibe is great - love the decor and energy. Service was on point, food was delicious & drinks were fire! You can feel the love and care that has been put into everything in Historia Cantina. A big highlight were the empanadas…. So fresh, flaky and tasty! You could tell they were homemade by hand which we confirmed with our great server. We loved the small plates for sharing but it’s also nice that there is the option for larger portions too. Amazing spot we will be back soon!
Great vibes and decor. Drinks were top notch and very unique both the artisan cocktails and the margaritas. Beef tartare on bone marrow was delicious! As well as the day's special of tuna tataki over seared scallops. Beef birria tacos and fish tacos both offered different flavour palettes and were awesome. Churros were a great way to finish off the meal! Will 100% visit again.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Historia Cantina, and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. This place exceeded all my expectations with its delicious food, delightful drinks, inclusive atmosphere, and stunning decor. First and foremost, I must mention the tuna tartar—it was truly exceptional! The freshness of the tuna was evident in every bite, and the flavors were expertly balanced. It was a delightful start to our meal and left us craving for more. Beyond the food, the overall ambiance of Historia Cantina was simply amazing. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. One aspect that truly stood out to us was the restaurant's commitment to inclusivity. Historia Cantina had gender-neutral bathrooms, which is a commendable and forward-thinking approach. Moreover, the decor was truly captivating. The attention to detail in the design was remarkable for this suburban gem. The combination of traditional and modern elements created a unique and visually stunning ambiance. It's evident that a lot of thought and care went into crafting the atmosphere, and it greatly enhanced our dining experience. Lastly, I can't forget to mention the drinks at Historia Cantina. They were simply phenomenal! The mixologists behind the bar are true artisans, as each cocktail we tried was expertly crafted and bursting with flavors. Whether you're a fan of classic concoctions or adventurous creations, the drink menu at Historia Cantina has something to suit every taste. In conclusion, Historia Cantina is a gem of a restaurant. From the incredibly fresh tuna tartar to the awe-inspiring decor, everything about this place was outstanding. Not only does it deliver on culinary excellence, but it also fosters an inclusive environment and provides an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend visiting Historia Cantina, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Kid-friendliness: There were babies, toddlers and little kids in the restaurant. I great mix!
Stumbled upon this hidden gem! Found this restaurant on Google and I’m so glad I did! Keep in mind that the menu is tapas inspired which is perfect if you’re looking for a place to try and share a few different things like we did. To start, we got the the Mexican street corn which was absolutely delicious and paired well with the calamari started we ordered too. We then shared the steak tacos with a creamy garlic aioli and the chicken tacos with the perfect balance of sweet pineapple salsa. The tacos were on the smaller side so the server recommended we add a taco of each and that ended up being more than enough for a meal for 2. Last but not least, the churros. Oh, the churros! My fiancé is a self proclaimed churro connoisseur and these have made it to the top of her list. These golden sticks of heaven are crispy on the outside, yet perfectly soft and pillowy on the inside. Dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with a sweet dip, they’re life changing. And of course, the owner Jill was very kind and welcoming and you could really see how much she cared for the new restaurant and everyone inside. She told us the back patio was a must see and boy was she right! The deck lines the back of the building and overlooks a creek, making it the perfect atmosphere for summer nights. Can’t wait to come back!
We were not impressed with the flavour of the food, nor the presentation/plating - the latter left much to be desired. The best item we had were the birria tacos. Decent cocktail and drink selection.Food: 3/5
Happened to pass through Schomberg and hopped into Historia Cantina for lunch and what am amazing place it was. Feel so good to find this place out of the blue. The ambience was amazing and the patio outside by the river is simply awesome. Service and food was amazing. Loved the fish and veggie tacos and also the chips and salsa. A must visit if you're passing by the town, you will not feel let down.
Has a lovely dinner there on Saturday night! The Margaritas were spot on. Beef empanadas, Argentina Shrimp, pork, beef tacos and churros! All extremely tasty. The Service was terrific. For a tapas menu, I did find that they’re prices were a bit high, for the portion size! I recommend you try it you won’t be disappointed.
The opening of Historia has elevated the growing food scene in pretty Schomberg. I stopped in for a light dinner and this new local resto did not disappoint! The olives were warm and came with grilled bread... just the right amount of kick and a generous serving. The shrimp tacos were delish. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. The place is beautiful with a great outdoor balcony overlooking trees and a running creek. Historia is anything but scruffy! Support local businesses!
Delicious and authentic. Enjoyed the ribs, tacos, empanadas and tuna tartare. We ordered almost everything off the menu and it was all phenomenal! The service was top notch as well as the drinks. Historia Cantina is such a special place and we are so happy to have them in our town Schomberg. . When fish tacos are made from fresh Branzino, you know you are in good hands. Schomberg welcomes you for many years to come. Well done!
