The decor , ambience and lighting are pathetic but in a funny kind of way the food and service was great actually , real feel of good home made cuisine , would give it a five star if they had proper servers , ambiance maybe not water on a cheap plastic jugs and give you mango juice for kids with a straw anyway , it’s worth going but don’t expect a real restaurant experience, also , no liquor license!
I havent had good indian food in well over 10 years, and wow, it was never this good. Dont get discouraged by the small portions, trust me its enough. The quality is truly straight from india, made by devoted chefs and an inspiring and friendly owner. The prices are very fair and affordable too. Its authentic thro and thro. Dont waste your money elsewhere, nothing compares Parking: Lots out front Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, lots of space too for easy maneuvering Dietary restrictions: Had dairy-free options, vegetarian and gluten free
What can I say? I love butter chicken. Went with a group last time and it took a really long time to get our food. Taste was worth it. Only one server it seems. Really nice guy.Food: 5/5
Staff was great. As I don't know most of the dishes, the waiter told us his favorites and sides. The food is fantastic. We'll be back again.Food: 5/5
Food is well prepared and tasty, but portion size in-restaurant is tiny! Ordering for takeout is about 3 times the size of what you get seated in the restaurant. Same price though. I'll keep ordering to eat at home, but won't bother going here for lunch or dinner.Food: 2/5
We had a WONDERFUL experience at Himalayan Kitchen and we wanted to let everyone know that we absolutely recommend this restaurant. KK the owner is the friendliest business owner who you will ever meet and you can tell immediately that he really cares about pleasing his guests. The food was great. We had the vegetarian samosas which were homemade and delicious. I had the chicken korma dish which was really really good. The colour and the texture and the flavour were perfect. I ordered mine medium spice level but next time I will order it a bit more spicy. All in all a terrific experience and we look forward to going back there again soon! Thank you Kishan and Deepak!
Family members3 ordered 3 different items from the menu, including appetizer. Mild, and Chai tea. We mixed and matched the orders, so we all had a taste of various dishes. We enjoyed the food,The vegie pakora was heavily salted, otherwise meal was awesome! We ate it all anyway!. Traditional drinking vessels kept the water cold. The Naan Bread was not too heavily buttered. A takeout order Butter Chicken was still warm, by the time I returned to my home.2 hours away. Look forward to a return journey to Quesnel... Not on a Wednesday , I hope. They are closed! They also provide vegan options Vegetarian options: Their menu is extensive, reasonable, Naan or rice are included, not extra, as in many Restaurants. Kid-friendliness: No children with us, lots of room. Bathroom very clean! Parking: Was a challenge, it was a lovely walk both ways. Dietary restrictions: Menu says to notify server of any allergies.
We visited Himalaya kitchen in quesnel and it was just amazing experience with whole family for us, ambience of the restaurant is so cool, great food, wonderful service and everything is worthy, Chef Deepak is great and friendly and we feel like home, definitely we will visit there soon. Thanks Deepak and team..
The owner Kishan is a down to earth gentleman with a soft spoken nature and warm personality. The food is authentic Indian and I tried the lunch thali special which today came with butter chicken and chick peas with a Naan and rice. The butter chicken was a little too sweet for my liking but I'm sure the local palette demands a milder taste profile. I also tried the aloo tikki chat with chickpeas. The tikki were fresh with great fresh flavors and the channa/chickpeas chat complemented the tikki well. When in Quesnel do not miss this authentic Indian gem. Support local and visit the Himalayan Kitchen for great food and authentic Indian decor. Took me back home with the pictures of the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. I will be back! Vegetarian options: The restaurant has non dairy options such as dal tadka lentils aloo mutter peas and potatoes bhindi masala okra baingan Bharta eggplant mushroom masala, mixed veg in coconut curry, aloo Gobi masala potatoes and cauliflower
I did not expect to find this authentic tandoori oven Indian food so far from the lower mainland! The garlic naan rivals Vancouver’s famous “Vij’s”. The dal makhani with a swirl of ghee on top and so rich and creamy! Staff were so kind. I can’t say enough good things!
