This is Vernon Eatery Number 174 on my quest to eat at every eatery in town. It was my first time visiting Hillview golf course. I paid $24.70 after tax and tip for a spicy black bean burger, deliciously crispy fries, and a root beer fountain soda.nnThe bathroom is rather small.nnThe tables were clean.nnThe woman working behind the counter was super friendly and helpful.
It's very crowded generally, and many of the golfers are new so you need to be aware of incoming balls at all times.nThe course itself is in great shape and generally very well cared for. Food is pretty basic which is great really for the size of the place and you can get a cold drink. Most of the people working there are very attentive but the whole operation feels a bit miss managed, like the owners aren't very present in the operation.
Wonderful budget golf course here in town. Special thanks to Connor in the pro shop as he was kind, knowledgeable and helped make the whole experience accommodating. He was very keen to help and even gave us a small tip on what clubs to hit on the first hole, wonderful young man.
Used to come here as a kid with my dad learning how to put and swing and 18 years later I came back and remembered how fun it is. Definitely gonna be coming back for more practice and play some holes.
When you are a single player and you show up on sunday morning to a parking lot with 15 cars in it and you are told buy the you guy at the desk you cannot play for two hours. And the course is not full that's not good to turn away golfers. Bad for return customers.
