Hillhurst United Church is an Affirming Ministry in the heart of Kensington. We have been a place that for 100 years has opened its doors to those looking for open-minded discussions on issues that matter to them.

We strive to accept each other as we are and welcome the ministry and participation of all persons regardless of age, gender identity, health, race, sexual orientation, differing abilities, religious or ethnic background or economic circumstance.

Hillhurst is a progressive christian community with a mix of age and experience and we welcome you. Our Sunday gatherings are relaxed and inviting, blending the relevant spiritual issues of the day with reflections rooted in the scriptures; metaphors of life-giving hope. Using humour, story, and an invitation to question, we journey to discover the message the Spirit has for us, both individually and as a community. There isn’t much dogma, doctrine, or dust in this beautiful historic site. At Hillhurst we are seeking opportunities to serve and be served.

Hillhurst United offers a unique place to take the first step in a deeper exploration of faith and life issues. Throughout the week there are educational programs aimed at inviting you to ponder and create a meaningful life! Our Sunday services are casual, energetic and inspiring. The coffee's on before and during the service, so come as you are.

We have a KidSpace/Sunday school program for kids 6 months and older and nursery care is provided for both services.

Regular Sunday Services (two to choose from)

Join us for relaxed and inviting Sunday gatherings at both 9:05am and 10:45 am.

- The 9:05am Express! (9:05-9:55am)
The 9:05 is a casual service of song, prayer and reflection. If you want an earlier time and a shorter service, this is the place for you!

- Full Service 10:45am
This service is a little longer than the 9:05, and can include: more singing, choir anthems, special music, drama, visual and creative arts, and more. It ends around Noon and lunch is normally served in the gym immediately after the service. Everyone is welcome for food and fellowship.
