Story

Currently Hillcrest Animal Hospital employs 5 Veterinarians and 11 staff members housed within a 6,000 square foot facility dedicated to the care of pets in the Quinte area. All aspects of small animal medical and surgical practice are performed within the facility. Please feel free to drop by and see our hospital. We are immensely proud of what we have accomplished and believe in the care we give to all of our patients.



"Hillcrest Animal Hospital has been serving the pets and people of the region of Quinte West for over 4 decades. It was established in 1971 by Dr. Jack Lange, in what was then known as Trenton. Initially, the hospital was a large animal only practice, and then it slowly began serving both large and small animals in the area. Now, we have evolved into a small animal only practice. Our team of 3 veterinarians and 11 staff members are immensely proud of what we have accomplished, and we believe that the care we offer to our patients is second-to-none.Please note that on Saturdays, we are only open for food purchases and pick up of medications."

I have been taking my dog Benny to Hillcrest for several years. They always made me feel like he was the most special dog in the world, which of course, to me, he was! When we recently experienced a medical emergency and ended up losing Benny, they helped me through the absolute worst day of my life with unparalleled compassion and understanding. I look forward to having them as my vet for years to come.
After spending countless about hours researching all of the available veterinarians in my neighborhood for my little baby gurl, I decided I would choose Hillcrest based on the recommendations of other pet owner's. I am So glad that I did! The staff at Hillcrest are AMAZING! They treat me with respect and have no problems answering the multitude of questions I have, being a new pet owner. We've now been for a couple of visits and my little girl gets so excited when we go there because she gets treated so well, which makes me feel so good! I can write a book about how amazing they are but all I am going to say is that I'm so glad I chose Hillcrest to be my puppy's veterinarian!
I travel to Hillcrest Veterinarian Clinic from one hour west of Trenton. I do this because I am most confident with the Veterinarians especially Dr. Natacha and the staff are very caring and make me and my 14 year old Schnauzer at ease. The clinic is well run, very clean and we'll equipped. They return calls very quickly and keep you informed of the status of the pet's health. I highly recommend them.
I have been a client at Hillcrest for sixteen years and throughout those years, the staff have welcomed and treated me like a member of their family. They were especially comforting when euthanasia became necessary, and with each one of my four-legged friends, Hillcrest staff cared for them as though they were their own pets. Make no mistake, they REALLY DO love animals and I have no hesitation in recommending Hillcrest to any and all pet owners. Ron McAnespie
Amazing staff. My senior dogs have been going here for about 6 years. All of the Vets are very thorough and great at explaining everything regarding my dogs heath and wellness. I highly recommend this clinic.
Special thank you to Hillcrest for taking care of our senior kitty! Our doctor took the time to explain and give options for each of our cats ailments. Zero pressure to do diagnostics, rather information was relayed and the decision was completely mine. I left the clinic feeling informed and that my cat was well taken care of. Thank you, Hillcrest!!
Way too overpriced. They only care about how much money they are going to make off you. They run up the bill and do things without your permission. Also tried to prescribe an expensive pain med by tapping on my dogs spine saying he has pain in his spine. They also said that the pain med will help with his appetite…..This place is a joke and I won’t be taking my Dane here ever again. They have no good advice to give you when you ask questions and are very incompetent. I recommend going somewhere else if your dog is sick because they have no idea how to care for them.
Very clean and very friendly staff. They were very understanding that it was hard to hand my boy over to them and were very supportive and reassuring. They are my dogs regular vet.
Very expensive, each visit seems to cost more. Flat fees for vaccinations and non-stop upsell. Will be looking for a new vet that cares more about treating my pets than selling services not requested.
Very caring and proficient at dealing with a sideways embedded tooth so my pup could be painfree.
