Personally I found this campground to be very enjoyable. The first one in a long time that I backed into the first time and my bubble level was right in the middle. Easy peasy. Yes it's a newer campground and the trees are young but it's still a very nice place to rest and relax. The campground and surrounding area are quiet, the washrooms are new and cleaned daily. Sure the showers are coin operated but 3-4 loonies and you're done. You can't even get a shower at a truck stop for twice that. The vicinity to the absolutely wonderful dog park made my doggo Rollins very happy! Walking distance to town and a few minutes drive to Lethbridge if needed, makes it easy to check out different things or get essentials you may need. Plus, if you have young kids who love to ride their bikes, well definitely check out the mountain bike park as that would keep them busy for awhile. Its a great campground in a nice little town and in a few years when the young trees grow some it will be even better.
Loved camping at Owl’s Nest! Such a well maintained campground. Great amenities. I really enjoyed getting ice cream from the concession - as well as the beautiful sunsets. I will for sure be coming back!
A new campground with great facilities. Blake was so helpful and friendly. As most of the others mentioned, trees are new and it will take couple more years to grow.
Very nice facility well maintained clean and we had no problems with the management they were very nice to us.
The Good: The road and gravel in sites is in good shape. Big dog park right beside the campground and a mountain bike park would be useful for those with kids. Dump station right on the grounds. The Bad: The price is higher than I would expect for 15 AMP service, AND you still have to pay to use the showers. I'm guessing this is to deter local troublemakers from abusing the facilities, but I've been to many campgrounds and never once had to pay to use bathroom facilities. The grass and trees are very new and not established so there's no cover between sites at all and if it rains the clay sticks to everything. The big kicker for the weekend was when we woke up on our pack-up day to find the sprinklers turned on all around us. They were hitting our trailer from all sides, with one shooting directly in front of our trailer door, making it impossible to get out without being soaked. We called the manager and after a few unanswered calls, were told he was coming to turn them off, and that they should have only been on for 30 mins, though they had been going for longer than that. They should not have been on at all! The carpet, blanket and chairs we had left outside because there was 0% rain in the forecast were completely soaked. They did immediately refund us for one night, but this really left a bad impression overall. I can't comprehend why you would turn sprinklers on in campsites that are occupied? If you want to water your sod, do it when the site's not booked!
The first time we visited we gave it 5 stars, this time not so much. Very difficult to back in in the dark, wifi password and bathroom code were incorrect. Thankfully other campers gave the washroom code. Owner was helpful but maybe a backup person could be of benefit. Still a great place, just a little disappointed this time around.
We camped here for a night on may long and enjoyed our stay! Good rates and all the amenities you’d need for a weekend camp! Bathrooms and showers were kept clean as well as they sell snacks, beverages and fire wood at the concession stand. The campground is also connected to a pedal bike track and beautiful off leash dog park! Definitely recommend camping here and will be coming back again!
Pretty nice place. Very clean. Bit crowded but still very nice
Not great! You need to pay for the showers, and after the $41 fee per night I thought that was a little odd. A dollar for 5 minutes isn't too bad but it only takes loonies. OK. I couldn't find any loonies so I downloaded the app. App doesn't work. Continually gives me an error when I try to pay $1 for my shower. They have no street lights so it gets pretty dark at night if you need to find your way to the washroom. We didn't see any staff for the entire weekend. There is no wood on site. There is no laundry on site. Why am I paying $41 plus tax a night for this? That was for the 15 amp service. It costs more for the higher amp. The ground was soaking wet when we got there. I figured it was because they had rain the day before. We found out this morning that maybe it has something to do with the sprinklers that turned on and soaked all of our camping equipment for an hour. When we called to complain the gentleman on the other side said "They only are on for 30 mins." That wasn't the point! Why were they on in the first place? You had people camping in those sites! They refunded some money but honestly not a great way to start your morning. You guys are the only game in town and I get that. The amount you charge for the service you provide is too steep. Drop your price down to $30 a nite and I probably raise my review to a 3 or a 4. I have stayed in much nicer campgrounds, with way more services, amenities, shade, privacy between sites for the same amount of money or cheaper.
Excellent Campground Could use a few more Full size Tree's to Block the Wind but Beautiful Brand New State of the Art Facility, Really, Really Great Prices, Very easy to find and Very Quiet and Comfortable But, Best of all: Trevor is One Hell of a Fantastic Manager and just a Great Guy! I would Definitely Recommend this Campground to Absolutely Everybody!
