My entire experience having laser cataract surgery at the Herzig Eye Institute was second to none. Needless to say I was very apprehensive about my surgery but the staff and Dr Herzig himself put me at ease.. I was absolutely shocked at how pain free and stress free this procedure was. Everything was explained clearly to me and my results were wonderful. I don’t ever remember seeing this clearly. I am very, very pleased with the results. Thank you Dr Herzig and staff.
Consultation was quick, but comprehensive. Being able to ask questions even after leaving and getting prompt responses was important. Procedure was quick and easy. My only complaint was I waited nearly 2 hours after my scheduled appointment time to have the procedure completed. Procedure prep and aftercare were explained in great detail. Overall, wonderful experience and being 1 month post op, I’m happy to say everything has been great. Being able to see without glasses/contacts for the first time ever is the greatest experience ever!
Dr. Modabber is the best Doctor you can find to help you with your vision and eye issues. He performed the Smile procedure for me some months back and everything has gone smoothly. The after care and attention to detail is exemplary. He goes above and beyond to ensure your questions are answered and you feel comfortable through the whole journey. The rest of the team working here are very friendly, pleasant, and helpful as well. Highly recommend!
I’ve been wearing eyeglasses for more than 10 years and I finally did my PRK surgery in early November in Herzig Eye Institute by Dr. Herzig. It’s been a month now and my eyesight is perfect. Everyday I am extremely grateful and thankful. Thank you Dr.Herzig, Dr.Che, Jacky and Celine for your wonderful and professional service. Highly recommend!
I had SMILE Laser Eye Surgery in August 2022, and I had vision within the first 24 hours. I am amazed at the quick results, but also the experience from beginning to my continuous check-ups. When I walked into the office, it was very modern, clean and all staff were welcoming. The experience was everything I expected and more.
I went in for cataract surgery on my left eye recently. Since I had the right eye done a few years ago at a different clinic I thought I knew what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! From initial consultation through surgery everyone at the clinic has been pleasant and amazingly efficient! Dr. Modabber gave me great advice to correct my left eye one diopter nearer. After surgery I was in the recovery room and I was stunned that I could read the text on my cell phone without glasses. I was fully expecting to be dependent on readers for most reading tasks. The vision through my left eye is so sharp and clear, not saying that my right eye isn't good, but the eye corrected at Herzig is above and beyond that.
I experienced flawless care from all members of the HEI ophthalmology team at each step of the processes to treat cataracts in both my eyes. The sophisticated diagnostics/measurements and surgical techniques resulted in an almost immediate improvement in my vision after the procedures, with minimal post-op discomfort. Now, two weeks later, my vision continues to stabilize and I'm able to see clearly without using even reading glasses! I guess I'll need to change my profile photo....
They charge $200 to release your eye mapping results and images with or without clinic notes. I was told it was a complimentary consultant and releasing results is $200 if I didn't get a surgery. If you get surgery they still charge $25. I don't feel comfortable with a clinic that does this but wants to charge $3K per eye for SMILE. I went to the 2 other top rated clinics in Toronto and they emailed my results for free so it's not industry standard. This sort of policy just sends the wrong message. All I wanted to do was discuss my results with my optometrist so I could get the opinion of a doctor that knows me and my medical history.
I am so happy I don’t have to wear glasses any more! It took me a long time to get the courage to do it, and it has turned out even better than I hoped for! Hertzig is a top-notch facility and the entire team took great care of me. Special thanks to Dr. Modabber for giving me perfect eyesight. I can’t adequately express the thrill when I wake up every morning and no longer need to reach for the eyeglasses.
I had an amazing experience with Herzig and especially with Dr. Modabber. I was suffering with cataracts and my vision was fading more than I knew. When I first met with Dr.Modabber he was very kind and reassuring and let me know he would have me fixed and seeing clearer soon! I was able to get in quickly within a month and had my treatments over 2 days. The team throughout the process was incredible. Everyone was so helpful and calm. It’s nerve-wracking to consider doing this to your eyes…what if it doesn’t work…then what? But the team are so professional, took the time to answer my questions and give me the confidence and reassurance to go ahead. It was by far, the best decision that I have made and I cannot be happier with my vision! They have turned the clocks back by at least 25 years on my eyes and now they just have to find a way to do the same with the rest of this body :!! I highly recommend to anyone thinking of having cataract surgery to reach out to the Herzig Institute and ask for Dr. Modabber! He is the BEST!! Thank you very much for giving me back the gift of SIGHT!!
