So excited to write this review. We have traveled to many places, but have never had a REUBEN sandwich like this. IT was so flavourful that my husband and I couldn’t stop talking about it. The attached fries were hot and plentiful. The sandwich was generously layered with quality corned beef. The presentation of the food was generous and plentiful. Let me sum it up this way. We are here again today. Trying Two hearted 16 ounce , yes happy hour price $1.50 per glass……about 9 others on tap to try.
I am writing this review 8 years after our meal here — because I haven’t stopped thinking about it ever since! My husband and I were on a road trip and hungry for lunch, so we took the nearest exit and landed ourselves at this cafe in this tiny Michigan town. It’s absolutely CHARMING inside and the staff was so kind. Morel mushrooms were in season, so we had their freshly made morel mushroom soup… Oh, how I wish I could have a bowl of it again. It was th best soup of my life!
We were looking for a spot to have a nice lunch on the way up to Interlochen Arts Camp and we stumbled upon this place and were happy we did. We wanted to get the kids one last good meal before a month and a half of camp for and this exceeded our expectations. My daughter and I split the chicken and waffles and a burger and both were great!
Went there tonight only had 2 tables of people in the restaurant. Took a long time to get appetizers and salads and over an hour for food. 6 of us total and one steak was way over cooked and asked for mayo to go with food which we never got. My steak and broccoli was cold. Asked for it to be warm and saw the cheif touching it with his fingers when I walked to the bathroom. No hair nets and a girl with long dark hair in the kitchen with it flowing all over. My husband side was cold also. But the waitresses said she was waiting for the steaks to come off the grill as she was passing out the kids meals??? She asked if I wanted it replace and it would be fast but after waiting another 20 minutes after everyone was done i walked out with no food
The drinks were good. Food was decent. The fries were very salty and it took a long time to get the food. Staff were very nice.
After booking online 2 days in advance, I called the day before to get an early check in. Was told my reservation was not there. After a moment we got it figured out. Best to call instead of booking online. Soft beds and lots of space in the single queen #5. Good coffee in room as well.
My wife and I had an excellent lunch. The atmosphere and quality was above expectations. I can see this establishment being there for a long time
New owner I heard. Thought I'd see what was new... Schnitzel is veal, right? Morel soup recipe same. Less German and more eclectic, read: "groove-American style" and interior decor to boot. Bathroom door opens directly into the food lounge. Yikes! Same owner as Dockside on the other side of the lake. Needs improvement...
A little cold in attitude, we got there close to closing and felt we were imposing. They did have gluten free beer, we ordered spinach dip w/tortilla chips, turned out the chips were of flour variety and felt that they still wanted us to eat them even tho we would get very ill and pay for the dish.
My waiter was a wonderful young man and did a fine job. Wish I knew his name. But the food was awful! And so was the pricing! I ordered a cup of coffee, two appetizers which were terrible... But I did eat a little of both because I hadn't eaten the whole day and was starving... I was so disappointed in my meal I figured I'll go ahead and order a dessert it'll make me feel better lol. So I ordered some brownie thing with ice cream inside it drizzled with chocolate syrup and some raspberry sauce. I took one bite and pushed it aside. The brownie was so dry it crumbled. And that raspberry whatever they poured on it was so tart it made me pucker It was awful. I asked them to please removed the dessert from my bill and they would not... At the end of the night two appetizers a cup of coffee and a dessert cost me $38! I will never go back!
