I went to a kids birthday party there and can't say enough about how good the experience was. The staff set up the party room for you while your kids are playing in the gym. All you have to do is show up with the food and snacks. After and hour of play in the gym, the kids are ushered into the party room and are served the food by the staff. Them they help you pack everything up! It's really stress free for the parents and gives them ample time to socialize and enjoy their kids day. Highly recommend if you're looking to host a party.
Staff can be a hit or miss. We showed up late to our Covid tee time. There were empty slots before us and after us. The manager was quite adamant to come out and tell us that we were late and unfortunately she would not be allowing us to tee time. She gave us no options other then, “ you aren’t playing, please leave”. FORTUNATELY the front counter staff overheard our conversation and provided a solution! Go figure, a Clerk provided better costumer service and professionalism then her manager by identifying the problem and providing solutions. When i asked to speak to a manager to give the positive feedback for for moving our tee time by 45 mins! That was so simple. It solved the whole issue and left all party’s satisfied. Its quite shocking that the manager did not communicate and provide alternative options like the front counter staff. Great course, played it for over 20 years. Just wish management was a little more professional and considerate like the front desk staff.
This is a fantastic public Rec centre in a stunning very green natural setting. Tennis courts, a small, but very beautiful 9hole golf course, an outdoor fitness circuit which is sanitized by staff regularly! Indoor gymnasium and a seperate fitness centre are a few highlights. There are also a wide array of classes available from beginner levels on up. Henderson is directly affiliated with close by Oak Bay Rec, which also boasts a warm, Olympic scale pool. Rates are extremely reasonable, the facility is spotless and the staff very friendly, approachable, and willing to help. What's not to like? You should go!
Well organized and good staffing. Everyone greats you , smiles and are quick to answer questions. Love the place.
Alot of ample parking, another great recreation centre. All ages utilize this place.
A nice community centre with plenty of activities. The scenery is great and the deer too.
Go to spin class. So to strength. Don't sit around thinking about going. Just do it! Very reasonable prices, free parking, great instructors - what else could you want! PS Take Leslie's classes. She's awesome :0
Nice par 3 course that's challenging but not too difficult. Great prices and usually there's not much of a wait. The greens can be tricky and you might lose a couple of balls in the woods, but it's a fun course to play with friends or family.
A well organized and equipped recreation centre with a small, family oriented golf course. Many trails across the street through the University of Victoria grounds. Tennis courts and a baseball field offer a diversity of opportunities for recreation.
Few years ago, we had there the birthday party for our kid and some people still talk about it. The arrangement had a nice balance of play time and down time. Plus, in both parts I had staff members who helped me with serving and looking after kids safety... I love coming back and sharing similar memories with other families and friends.
