Worst decision I’ve made. Purchased card reader & printer. Found out later I need a tablet. Cost around $1000.00 in total. Set up was a nightmare. Customer service is non-existent or if your lucky a few days later! Doing transactions is super slow, like 5-10 minutes as you go through the process, if it actually works at all. Today I let a customer go because it just didn’t work, hopefully the customer comes back tomorrow with cash or check. Nothing like working hard, then go through this mess to get paid. Have this for 8 months and I think I’m nearing the end of my rope. Asked early on to get a refund, but of course nothing happened.
I can't stress enough how nice it is working with Helcim. I have been with Helcim for many years now but went through two different merchants before finding them. They are always helpful and great to deal with on the phone and they're open on weekends. Paying credit card fees sucks but they make it as pleasant as possible.
I've had such a wonderful customer service experience with Helcim, Philip in particular. I've had loads of questions as I built up my account and he's been so kind, thoughtful, and helpful the whole way through. Honestly, some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. So far the service itself is working well for me and I'm paying way less than I did with my previous processor. But it was the exceptional customer service that got me to write this review!
The new system is a tough one...It might be a good option if your an online business with products. It appears to be trying to be an online customer management system. As it does offer inventory, invoice generation, and customer information storage...but if you are a service based company that uses a separate accounting system things get complicated even with their "Integration" option it is risky unless you have a very simple accounting software process. Major downfall... Helcim now take their fees out daily so the amount they deposit into your bank 1-3 days after the transaction will not match the actual transaction amount you bill to your customers, so have fun doing monthly bank reconciliation. You have to find away to take the fee out of your daily bank deposits in your accounting system or your accounting software will not match the bank deposit amount. If you need a simple online payment processing system they do have an option for a simple processing where you just enter the amount and card information, and the software it will apply an random invoice number for you which is great if you do not have an invoicing / Sales receipt system in place already. I am giving it a 2 star because since the migration into the new system, I have had nothing but problems and trying to find work arounds for things that does not work with our current accounting process. The new system looks pretty and might be great for other companies, but for our company the older system worked much better, it was simple, took half the time to process a payment and send an invoice to a customer. Plus the FULL payments were deposited into our the bank the next day, and they sent the statement out at the end of the month, and took their fee out once a month, so it was one easier to manage the banking/accounting process. I know that some people will love the new system, but others will hate it. I am on the dislike side.
We’ve been using Helcim for a couple months for our on sight card processing, while the app has a some glitches and was a little slow off the bat it has greatly improved in the few months we’ve been with them, I do have to say I wish the card reader had the option to swipe a card as a lot of fleet or company cards do not have chips yet but then again we can always manually enter them. Their customer service is a little slow as they are a smaller company but they are always willing to help and so nice. In the past we’ve used PayPal, square and quick books to process cards. Helcim is by far the easiest to work with because there is always a human element to their service. Overall we are very happy !
I had a very inconvenient experience with Helcim during my initial account set up. The 1-2 day processing time is not true as it has been exactly a week since I registered and provided bank info. I had called customer service numerous times with an average wait time of 20 minutes or more. Customer service kept giving me fake ETAs, such as "within 40/20 minutes your account would be up and running". The interesting part is that my account was approved by Helcim but the additional wait time was said to be needed by the bank for final approval. I understand that might take some time but not one full week, and customer service shouldn't keep telling me to wait a certain amount of minutes for something they have no information about. My issue still has not been fixed, I'm most likely going to cancel with this company. I am a business owner and it's extremely crucial for me to get fast, and reliable service. I prefer working with other payment gateway providers that charge more but at least provide a reliable customer service.
I used Helcim 5 years ago and was excellent experience. Now I called customer service for my new business, I see some things are changed for better, but what made me make my decision to go again with Helcim it was the excellent customer service from Leda, who answered my questions on very professional and some funny way. Good company with amazing customer service makes company Great. Way to go Helcim!
Helcim has been an amazing partner for the Ace High Stampede party and enable us to process payments very easy and affordably! Their team are rockstars!
I absolutely this company. I have always used square but due to a few issues I decided to look into other options. So glad I did. These people are so great to work with. I am so happy with Helcim and Noah- Noah has been my Helcim rep.The response time alone with getting back to me.... are you kidding me? Wow. Impeccable! If i could rate this company more than 5 stars, I would.
