Heathen's Brewing

In town vacationing and thought gluten free craft brewery, great. Got there and found their taproom was actually part of Sunny Cider. So had to get a can of ale. No problem. Had Asgard Ale. Not a good smelling beer and really bad aftertaste. A disappointment. Ended up having cider instead.

Got a pack of Asgard Ale. The smell it gave off as I poured the beer I thought for sure it had gone bad as the taste was on par with the smell. Dumped it down the drain and figured I would try another. Alas it was the same. I figured I would look up reviews and it seems this is normal. I'm not sure if this is how all gluten free beer are but from this experience I cannot recommend the Asgard Ale. Bad smell bad taste.

Heathens makes the best gluten free beer I have ever had. They have a nice taproom, and offer flights of beer. Even if you are not gluten intolerant you will still find there beer is world class!! They have a large variety from sours to stouts

I have not ever really enjoyed beer. However we decided to look for a gluten free beer. We found Heathen's. We were thrilled that it is a local Calgary business. We really believe in supporting local businesses. So we tasted a few of their different beers. The Cherry Sour is delicious! I now enjoy drinking beer. They also have great customer service. I was having issues ordering online and they communicated with me and went above and beyond to help me get the order.

Amazing beer and great staff! Im Neopagan so a Viking brewery is so uo my alley! Gluten free beer doesn't make you bloated and you feel so light! I'm not gluten intolerant but after going to this brewery I will definitely go for less gluten in my life! You feel so light and good!

This is an awesome addition to Calgary’s brewery scene. Heathen is offering delicious options for gluten free and regular beer lovers alike. The staff are super friendly and are offering a great product. The current location has all of the character and charm of a startup business. There is a lot of head room in this company’s future.

Amazing gluten free beer- the Land of Njord Milk Stout is the closest thing to Guinness you'll get this side of the gluten free line. The sour lagers are phenomenal. They have friendly and incredibly knowledgeable staff, and supporting a family business makes it even better. 10/10!

We've had two really good experiences here over the past year. Their average of good-tasting beers is very high at most places I only enjoy about 20% of the beers, or so. All of their beers are also gluten-free, which is a nice feature for many people. The staff is very friendly and they have a good selection of board games available. We'll be back, for sure.

Finally a great gluten free beer! As someone with celiacs disease, I've been searching for a decent beer and I've certainly found it. The passion sour and peanut butter stout are the highlights for me. It's nice to get a variety of flavours and I look forward to trying more!
