Came here for lunch and had the burger and club sandwich. Both were great and very well-priced. The fries were especially delicious! The service was great - our server was so nice and knowledgeable - and the atmosphere was lively. Would definitely recommend Hazel’s if you’re in the Davisville area!Recommended dishesSides from Burger
Love this local breakfast spot. Good amount of food and a versatile menu. Everything tastes amazing. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and a delight to enjoy. The prices are reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, service is quick. The big booths are a treat too.
Chill, down-to-earth Diner with good service and yummy, unpretentious food. Onion rings and fries were crispy and not oily. Burger was simple but good. And so was the Niçoise Salad.
The Mount Pleasant location also has an outdoor patio, hidden by beautiful foliage and a wide sidewalk so that there's more privacy. You can certainly find the staple breakfast fare of bacon and eggs at Hazel’s, although I think their signature creations are so much better and love that their menu offers so many meat-free options. Bonnie’s hash $17, named after the owner’s wife who is a vegetarian, is a hearty combination of well toasted potatoes mixed with corn, onion, pepper, spinach, garlic, and jalapeno, topped with two eggs done to your liking my over medium was done perfectly. It’s a satisfying breakfast that’s also refreshing and delicious. I only wish the rye bread was less crispy – it’s more akin to melba toast – and is great for dipping into eggs but not solo with jam. Sourced from a local bakery, the owner explains the lack of preservatives does mean it can crisp up quickly, so perhaps order it untoasted if you like your bread soft. On the other hand, if you’re craving decadence, the eggs Natasha $19 places poached eggs on smoked salmon and pancakes topped with hollandaise, sour cream, and black caviar. It’s a savoury, sweet, and smoky concoction, certainly a dish to wake up the taste buds and makes me wonder if it’s too early to have a shot of vodka. For those who like it sweet, the French toast is made from challah so that it’s extra custardy tasting with a faint cinnamon finish. I particularly love that Hazel’s uses maple syrup instead of the overly thick and plasticky tasting table syrup. When you’re creating such wonderful dishes, go maple! After such a filling brunch, I didn’t think we could get through the loaded waffle $16, but as I took a bite of the fluffy creation with a sweet berry, I wanted another bite and another… needless to say, it did not go to waste. And despite what looks like an insane amount of whipped cream, it was as light as air and seemed to vanish on the tongue.
Absolutely amazing place, from the staff to the wonderful ambient music. But let's also take very special note to whomever is in the kitchen, everything I eat here is amazing! Some of the best home fries ever.Food: 5/5
Club sandwich was so delicious: amazing portion, thick tomato slices and perfectly placed chicken and bacon. Not tossed around like most places lol Mimosa carafe ratio is A+ Service was lovely
Wife and I came here with our 15 month old. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was unreal. Get the Mexican Benny and you will have no regrets. This is all that was left after the meal.
Server was excellent, they were able to seat myself and my 3 kids quickly at noon on a Sunday. Food is fine, but very overpriced in my opinion. I paid $15 for my son to have French toast, it was 3 pieces of bread dipped in egg, fried and put on the plate with syrup. My other son ordered a waffle, again, nothing on the side save for syrup. I understand costs have increased, I just don't think there was enough value. I hope they do well as they seem to be doing their best, but I won't be going there again.
Needed a post run meal and had received recommendations for this diner in the area. Overall it was a solid meal! The service was great and fast Ordered the Salmon Rosti, Canadian Omelette and a side of onion rings because why not!. Thoroughly enjoyed the rosti: tasted fresh, light and good balance in textures. Omelette was a huge portion, well stuffed with cheese, bacon and onions. Onion rings were perfect and came much more than I expected as a side If I was in the area I would go back again. Not a must eat meal but left happy with the meal!
Decided to try Hazel's Diner last weekend for brunch. Great little spot. Everything you expect out of a small diner. Our server was friendly, stayed on top of all our coffee refills, communicated what the meals would be like and kept us updated on how soon our food would be/take even though we weren't waiting long at all. Atmosphere is a typical diner and I could tell there were a lot of repeat customers based on the interactions with customers and servers. That's always a good sign. The price for the food was realistic. Food was good. Saw other tables with other meals which made my mouth water. I will be returning again to try out new items! I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a new brunch spot to try!
