Played Hawk Ridge for the first time. The meadow nest course is nice. Bunkers are raked and in play. Staff were nice and offered a cooler bag for beverages to keep cool. I'm excited to try the other 18 hole course here.
We played the Hawk Ridge GC on Monday September 21st. The day started off with a 45 minute frost delay before our tee off on the Timber Ridge course. Our group had an UnderPar coupon and there was a disagreement in the pro shop as to why the course was not providing a cart for both golfers that were not in the same bubble. Despite the fact that we had played the course in July and they did honour carts for both golfers their decision to charge for a second cart in September did not go over well. Further they apparently were not willing to provide a cart for a replay round; a condition not noted on the certificate. We were surprised that the cost to play was $80 for those without an UnderPar coupon. We typically play the Meadow Nest course a couple of times or more each year while staying at our timeshare in the area. Last year we just barely got our rounds in as both courses were shut down due to damage to the greens. Timer Ridge was a change of pace as we could not get a tee time on Meadow Nest. The course off the whites is 5,708 yards with a slope of 127. We found the layout reasonably fair with a mix of tough and easier holes. The wind certainly was a factor as we got into the back nine. The course is scenic and generally in good shape although a few greens seemed to be a little below average - probably still recovering from last years issues. The staff on the course were extremely friendly although it seemed like we were constantly running into them cutting the tee areas or pulling balls from the ponds. On a few occasions like hitting into the 8th hole par 3 the staff seemed to be oblivious to our group teeing off which makes one a little uneasy. Using the UnderPar coupon the consensus of our group is that is was a pretty good deal but at $80 overpriced. This has been a very strange year for golf. Because of the virus demand has been much higher and prices on some courses have reflected this.
My wife and I played Hawk Ridge today and was very happy with this place! They have 3 courses, 2-18 hole Par 72 and 1-9 hole Par 3 course. We played ‘The Meadow’ 18 hole and had a great time. Facilities were very clean and organized, and the pace of play was great, tee boxes, fairways and greens everything was on really good shape! Super happy we played here, and will definitely be back.
Beautiful course with friendly staff. I would recommend making reservations as it is busy there.
Greens are clean and in great condition. We normally play Meadows Nest or Timber Ridge and find them pleasing and gives us a good challenge!
First time playing here in Fall. The course condition is good. Course layout is very nice. Will be back again.
Course was great, but the Marshall would not leave us alone, guy needs a course in customer service. First encounter with him we were finishing up 9th hole 2 hours and 5 minutes in and he told us to pick up the pace. It really ruins the experience when you're playing well, having a good time, then this guy comes around and does this.
Timber course in great shape, played twice with Underpar and had a delicious lunch between rounds. My wife also got her certificate for her hole in one here last summer.
It was most certainly worth the 90-minute drive from Toronto to Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club. With our UnderPar voucher, we were fortunate to have had the opportunity & privilege to play every hole here. Their well-aerated fairways are almost as slick and well-groomed as their putting greens ... delightful! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Enjoy!
What are we doing guys... I don't think I hit a ball on the driving range that wasn't broken. I then played the Par 3 course. I feel bad for the staff because they are great and have to begrudgingly take my money knowing they are sending me to play a course that should not even be open it's in such bad shape. Every green was burnt to a crisp with no green left and covered in ant hills. If you can't maintain it, close it, all time low.
