"Haven Books is student owned & operated, and started in the summer of 2002. Originally established by 3 Carleton students, it was located at Hopewell & Leonard as just a small consignment store for textbooks. CUSA purchased Haven Books in 2008 when it was already in its current home at the corner of Sunnyside & Seneca. Currently, Haven Books houses over a thousand titles and provides students with the opportunity to buy textbooks at a reduced price and sell their used textbooks, too. In 2019, Haven Books expanded its offerings to bring in a cafe concept to compliment the bookstore and to engage the non-student community in Ottawa."

We stumbled upon this cafe on our way to bank street . Very spacious, different seating arrangements and lots of books to read or buy! The person there was super friendly and nice. They have a special sub roasted coffee beans, tried a latte it was delicious and strong! Lots of sunlight and room to work or just enjoy ur caffeine for the day :
The staff is really nice and it's nice that they have so many vegan snack options, I just wish they had more vegan sandwiches! Every time I go they are out of the vegan Caprese and I want to try it so bad. Also, I wish that they had proper bike parking so I didn't just have to lock up to a sign Vegetarian options: They have lots of vegetarian and vegan options for snacks and one vegan sandwich
Fast service, whether for books or for coffee. Usually have course texts within the first week of classes, if not before. Fairly user-friendly website; home delivery, uni delivery, and store pick up options. Generally have browseable selection of books outside course texts. Kid-friendliness: Chill atmosphere, but not really a kid-centric place. Parking: No dedicated lot, but if the banks are cleared, there should be street parking available even in the winter. Wheelchair accessibility: You can get inside the front door, but then it's stairs. You're good as far as book pick up, but getting to the café itself is a no-go on wheels.
Favourite Cafe in Old Ottawa South. Small but cozy atmosphere with good Coffee and tasty food.
Love the expanded space, beautifully decorated. Coffee is excellent and staff are really friendly. Good choice of baked goods and sandwiches.
Coffee, books, smell of coffee, smell of books -Magical blend. Quiet place to read, study and enjoy a great relaxing moment. Staff is very welcoming. Will be back.

Great little café with a hipster vibe. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Their cappuccino is one of the better ones I've had in town. Definitely a favorite stop when I'm in the area.
