Loved the gardens. They were lush and varied. We went late summer so some things were still in bloom. Definitely not peak for other things. The signage was great to learn about different plants and regions where to find them throughout Nova Scotia. The fountain was on and beautiful. We were able to access the building and café no problem and there was a tour taking place we didn't participate in a formal tour and just self guided around. There was lots to see and I would definitely go back!
I recently visited the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens and was absolutely enchanted by the experience. The gardens are meticulously maintained and offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.nnThe architecture of the buildings adds to the charm, creating a picturesque backdrop for photos. It's a perfect place for a leisurely walk, photography, or simply to relax and enjoy nature.nnOverall, I highly recommend a visit to the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens. Whether you're a plant enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful retreat, this place will not disappoint.
We arrived a little early in the season and so we're not able to see many of the flowers that were in bud but not yet bloom.nnThere's a really nice brook with a small waterfall that takes you down into a bog area.nnThere's also a hot house where you can watch botanists work with plants.nnWe arrived early in the season and there was no entrance fee.nnI'm not sure if there's an entrance fee during season.nnThis is a great stop if you happen to be riding by but not really a destination.
Beautiful even in mid-October botanical gardens with several distinct areas. Packs lots of features in a small acreage, it is easy to miss a pond or waterfall unless you look for them.
Wonderful garden to walk around and explore.
