It was our first time staying at this hotel and it was beyond our expectations. The manager welcomed us with smile and kindness and the reception gave us a very clean room. Other staff were also very polite and helpful. I loved their delicious food in restaurant and high quality and tasty tea in the lobby and in the room. The variety of drinks in restaurant completed their offerings. I loved the balcony of rooms with great view of Harbour as well as their location, very close to downtown, and highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed at the Harbour House Hotel for two nights during Christmas Holidays. The hotel lobby and meeting room were decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and lovely songs. We were welcomed warmly by the reception and given a very clean and comfortable room on the second floor with a fabulous view of the Harbour. The bathroom was very new and clean. There was a Nespresso machine with different tasty coffee in the room and we were provided an extra food package because of Christmas Eve. The friendliness of the welcoming crew, the cleanness of rooms, the lobby area, the café shop, and the restaurant with its amazing decoration and food made our stay exceptional and different from our previous trips to Salt Spring Island. I recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to feel relaxed, comfortable and cared for on this island with walking distance to downtown.
Wonderful hotel to stay in within the small town. It’s so close to most thing and has amazing harbour views from the balcony. The service was exceptional. From calling us to let us know we can check in early, to cookies and gifts at check in, we were so impressed by the staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only thing is the toilet took a long time to recuperate for a 2nd flush. Other than that it’s great. Note that there are no elevators on the island so you must carry your suitcase up a flight of stairs.
What a pleasant surprise! This was our first time staying at this hotel, which was recommended by my sister. The bright and airy lobby smelled wonderfully upon entry, and we were greeted with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and various types of water. We were gifted with a welcome package which was a nice touch! The room was clean and beds were comfortable, white soft linens and plenty of towels and shampoos/conditioner, soaps were available. Room was very comfortable, air conditioned, and a beautiful view of the harbour. Well done to this hotel in looking after all the extra touches. Would highly recommend!
As an injured veteran, with a service dog, we were looking forward to a weekend in this hotel once again. However, despite saying they welcome service dogs, they gave us a serious hassle. Firstly, they refused us a water front room like we had last time. Then they forced us to send his papers to them to prove he was a service dog. After that was established they wanted us to cancel our booking with Expedia and book through them as they don’t take bookings through Expedia involving service animals. Then they told us when we did rebook they would give us some room which was on the parking lot. Throughout this experience the lady at the hotel was rude and short with us. These people should be ashamed of themselves, and I hope if you are a veteran, or respect veterans, you won’t make a booking with this hotel.
