A beautiful spot! We were seated right away! The waitress was very kind and the service was good! We are on the patio which was very relaxing. We had the haddock and fries! It was good but nothing special for what we’ve experienced along the coast of Nova Scotia. The portion of fries were very small and they tasted over cooked or cooked within an air fryer. The fish was good - a different approach to the batter flavour which was nice if you like your batter flavoured! The fish tacos were a 2/5. A nice flavour but temperatures and balance of filling through it off. There were no condiments for food or coffee on the tables which was a dislike and did have to go in and ask for what we needed more of once. Not a big deal but did stand out! The view was beautiful and the location is stunning. We had higher expectations for the location and being a hot spot for travellers crossing the ferry but was not a bad experience by any means.
Nice view of the water from the patio. Food was good, menu had a variety of items that were reasonably priced. Service felt a bit rushed even though it was early for dinner.
Had relatives from the west visiting. Went there with no reservation, not realizing how busy they were. Waited at the bar. Seated us at a table and the server was the best. Best shepard’s pie I ever had. They were swamped that night and they still went above and beyond for us. Point being they didn’t have to do anything for us. Thank you very much for your help.
The service was good and also the food was good. My only complaint is; the size of the portion was on the smallish size... I had the Sheppards pie, which tasted great... it was just too small for a supper size meal
Fantastic experience here. Had the lobster dinner, raw oysters, and Oysters Rockefeller. Prices were good, service was great. Beer selection was good, with 4 craft beers available as well as the typical list of domestic and imports. Also enjoyed the house Moscato and a tiramisu. Oysters could had been opened with more care, there was more shell/debris in the oyster than we are accustomed to.
The fish tacos were delicious, and the spices were perfect. The battered haddock had me wishing it was a simpler beer batter. The service was excellent and friendly staff.
Completely enjoyed out late supper here such friendly staff, and the food was great. Prices are about average for all the restaurants in the area.
Great local place. We went for lunchtime on a tuesday. Outstanding service. Local beers on tap and good seafood. It was raining, but they seem to have a great view on the strait and the port.
The staff members were wonderful. We were seated on the patio which is beautiful and one woman came around with blankets and mosquito repellent as the sun went down, so thoughtful! There were no interesting gluten free options so I settled for a salad, but my husband said that his shepherd's pie was the best he's ever had! They offer flights of local beers, and have a selection of ciders as well.
The wait staff is super friendly, great at their jobs and attentive and the atmosphere was awesome we were on the deck - inside was very loud. The nachos were fantastic and actually layered with ingredients, the fish tacos and fries leave much to be desired.
