Amazing take out experience 2 nights in a row! The staff are extremely friendly, pick up times are quick, and the food is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the yam tempura and real crab/avocado roll. This will definitely be one of my go to places! Can't wait to try more of the menu.
I was positively thrilled and surprised to find such a delicious Japanese restaurant in Sooke! The service was 5/5 super warm and attentive, and even though our server warned us the wait would be a while, the time flew by with her bringing us water, tea, and our appetizer. Plus, they were clearly all hustling as fast as they could. For the food, they were actually sold out of a few things because we came later in the evening, but that made it clear they make everything fresh, same day. We had the agedashi tofu, which was perfectly crispy outside and soft inside with a tasty sauce beneath. My spicy chicken tofu soup came out steaming with an egg and rice, and I loved it. My husband had the yaki udon stir fry noodles and he devoured it. Tea was free, and I'm writing this review as we're sitting in Hara for a second night in a row!
Another hidden gym in Sooke for sushi! Small restaurant but extremely well oiled machine. Food was prepped and out in a timely fashion. Delicious , fresh and good selection. The fish for the sushi was caught that day I was told. Best sushi I have ever had
Very friendly service! Sushi rolls were all quite good, although maybe a bit too much rice for the yam rolls. The miso soup was comforting!
We were lucky to get a seat in the restaurant without making a reservation on a Sunday night. The sushi was amazing it was a busy place so you need to be willing to take your time. The staff was very friendly and you see lots of take out orders coming in as well. We liked our night out and were happy we choose for this restaurant
My review is based on take out order on Jan 29, 2023. We ordered Hara tray that came with assorted rolls. We couldn't eat more than half of it because of the terrible taste and smell.... some of them we had to spit it out. Just to clarify we LOVE sushi and aren't super picky eaters. The worst was chopped scallop roll... it had really bad scallop smell, obviously not fresh enough to be served. The second worst was the roll with salmon skin, they are supposed to be crispy but the texture was very tough and it was also super fishy smelly that we couldn't stand. Half of the tray was vegetarian, which were okay, nothing close to decent sushi..... Please, someone needs to check this place and make sure raw food is stored and prepared safely.

Pleasant and quaint atmosphere for dining in. Not much seating, but service is fast so the wait isn't long if there is one. Really easy to place an order and pick up too. The sashimi is fresh, and pretty authentic menu makes it a great experience.Food: 5/5
The food here is fantastic, from the fresh sushi to the donburi, ramen and Korean dishes. Most meals come with side dishes which makes the value incredible for the price. I've never been disappointed with freshness. The restaurant is in a sweet location at the Sooke town center and the atmosphere inside is lovely and clean. The staff are always kind, quick to welcome you, and helpful. A must try in Sooke!
Only had takeout this time and have eaten in before. Sushi is quite average, rice was extra dry and avacado was definitely past it's prime and a dark brown. Wish there were more options in Sooke!Food: 3/5
