Food was decent. But had a very unpleasant experience with the manager. This manager does not care about his customers and lacks basic human respect. My family was getting together for a day to support my mom who just started going through chemo. My sister and I had both flown in. My sister has a newborn who is extremely allergic to several many types if food. Because of the risk my sister chose to bring her own food into this restaurant. After the rest of my family had ordered $60 worth of food we began to enjoy our lunch together before we were interrupted by the manager who told us that no outside food is allowed. He listened to my sister explain the situation. He mentioned she could have ordered a lettuce wrap and said there were no exceptions to the rule. This totally ruined the experience. We sat disappointedly for a few minutes before my dad went up to ask again explaining how my mom is supposed to stay out of the sunlight due to cancer so we couldn’t even take our food outside to eat. Sadly, the manager refused saying again there were no exceptions and also specified that he wouldn’t allow outside food outside his restaurant either. We just wanted a nice afternoon meal together.
We tried three different sandwiches. All were excellent with great flavor. Even the pickle was stellar. We did carryout but the dine in had great atmosphere. I'd take it over Panera any day.
Had a midweek family get together for lunch. Arrived at 1130 to find "Princess Parking" right up front of the shop and no wait to order. The restaurant was clean, tables available and well staffed with friendly people. The sandwiches were excellent and quite large to my eye. Those having soup commented on the quality and tempeture. Overall a very pleasant experience. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new place to try. Parking: On street parking and a big lot across the street that belongs to someone else but there were lots of open spots and no prohibition signs.
Love the feel of this place. The tall foliage is an excellent touch. I definitely get a more urban vibe than the average place in town.
Amazing food and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping by and getting an awesome sandwich or soup. They also have great Boybilian fountain soda.Food: 5/5
Was in the area for a track meet and daughter and I found this place. French baguette bread on sandwich was very fresh and both of our sandwiches were excellent. Highly recommend if you’re passing through.
The food was delicious and the ambience was pleasant. The Colombian —really good; coffee mayo was surprisingly pleasant, mild, probably my favorite part. I might do light mayo next time. Pickles added a nice brightness contrast/complement to lighten. I also enjoyed jalapeños on the side, but not everyone likes those. **The caramelized onions are So. Worthwhile. Yes. Some people have sad, limp, soggy, boring onions BUT NOT HERE. The Double BA — good, bacon, my opinion not as good as Columbian, but my dad liked his BA just as much as my Colombian. Southern corn chowder was good and creamy without being too heavy. The mild spicy bite was nice but not overpowering.
Incredibly delicious food, we got the Herb’n Bourbon as a sub and the Handy Sandy as a wrap. Really, really nice interior with a super cool view of the creek.
First time visiting, August 28, 2022. Excellent sandwiches! Homemade bread is great. They do great with the toppings and don't skimp. Prices are a bit high, but for what you're getting the value is there for sure. Building is really cool inside. Staff are excellent. Situated right next to a flowing river. The soda is all cane sugar based, and it's great. It isn't large chain soda. We had the Double BA sandwich, and it was awesome. This is a hidden gem in Hillsdale. Try it out! To the owners and staff, great job!
Super yummy sandwiches plus cool atmosphere! I always go for their mac & cheese, too. :
