Beautiful free public park with public restrooms. Great spot for engagement, wedding, and grad photos. There are ties and dedications to various kings and queens. There are many different spots to sit and enjoy the beauty around you. There are benches, lakes, fountains, and plenty of green lawn space. Worth a visit when you are in town for a nice stroll or maybe even picnic.
A Peaceful Oasis in the Heart of the Halifax. This public garden is truly a hidden gem! The landscaping is beautifully done with vibrant flowers, shady trees, and well-kept paths that make walking around a pleasure. It’s a perfect spot to unwind, enjoy a quiet moment, or take photos. There are plenty of benches, clean washrooms, and even areas for kids to explore safely. I loved how peaceful and clean everything was—clearly very well cared for. A must-visit if you’re looking for a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle!
Looking for a relaxing stroll through a wonderful garden, then this is the perfect place. This free venue will not disappoint. There are many flowers and trees and places to sit and relax. There is a mini lake with lots of ducks and if you are looking for a quick bite or a drink this is a quaint place right in the middle of it all.nnIt will take about 1-1.5 hours so see everything.
Although I generally have a deep disdain for overly manicured gardens, this place still managed to have that lovely old, European vibe.nnBut first and foremost please message the city and inform them that the fish are dying from lack of oxygen, that is why they come to the surface for air. They need to install a water fountain. Finding a place with a tiny bit of wildlife in a human centric world where we have violated our inter species relationship is always welcome. The baby ducks were gorgeous, I saw a small squirrel and apparently there are two snapping turtles in the water.nnAs Canada crumbles and Halifax looks increasingly grungy, it was nice to stroll through a park and see lovers holding hands, people resting or reading and sitting under those lovely old trees that still have soul.nnI almost felt like I had returned to the Canada I once loved.
Halifax Public Gardens shows that every major city should have a beautiful public garden where people can go and relax and just decompress.nnI visit the Public Gardens out of town, and I was mesmerized by the peace and quiet and the small views. I’m jealous of people who live so close to this garden because I would visit every day if I could.nnA bonus is the ducks and the cute coffee shop in the middle.
