The road to get in is not maintained and full of pot holes, cow manure, and large edgy rocks. I would recommend having a larger car with good suspension. Other than the initial path, the campsite is in between the mountains and right next to a waterfall. The views were phenomenal and the other campers were very friendly. There is no dumpster though so make sure you have somewhere to store it. Still one of the best campsites I've been in.

My wife & I hiked up the trail past the amazing waterfall to the Twin Lakes at the base of Granite Peak. The canyon is gorgeous & the lakes pristine! Well worth the 3.5 miles each way, but wear good shoes or boots. The terrain is pretty rough. We can't wait to go to the 4 Upper lakes next time. As for the campgrounds, they were more than adequate & drinking water hand pumps keep everyone well hydrated:) Oh yeah, be sure to have good tires on your vehicle & GOOD CLEARANCE underneath. The road gets awful rough towards the end. Just drive slow, it'll be worth it when you get there:)

Too bad the one reviewer didn't take a hike. She is totally wrong about 'water falling over small rocks'! Don't believe a word of it. It is now August 31st, and we've been there in October and the water is gushing off of large boulders, and the 'falls', yes plural...as you hike along the creek, are magnificent! ! Too bad she didn't walk to all the falls. The drive is a bit rough, but once you get there, you won't want to leave. 😊

The 16 mile dirt road to the campground is hard but it gets more difficult the last 3 miles. Recommend a truck or SUV. The waterfall is nothing to right home about. Water falling down small rocks shouldn't be considered a waterfall.
