Bought the haircut, morrocan oil treatement and ombre or half head highlight on Groupon. Walked in, and the stylist was on the phone. Not overly friendly and continued to check her phone that was on full volume throughout my entire appointment. She asked me what I wanted, I said I wanted to go with the ombre. Her response was that I already had ombre but my previous balayage highlights had just grown out by about 6-7 months. We agreed that the best option would be to do the half head of highlights for it to show in my natural 7-8 blonde level hair. I wanted it natural looking, not too platinum as it's the winter season. All of a sudden, she's painting large chunks of bleach throughout the top half of my head for a max of 5 minutes. I've been doing my hair for years (recently moved to the Toronto area and looking for a new stylist) and I've never had such a large amount of bleach painted on my head so fast and so quick, I was extremely put off but gave her the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was going to look really good. I was wondering why she was rushing along so fast and coloring such large chunks of hair. While rinsing, I had to remind her to do the treatment and I noticed a bottle of Shimmer Lights (really good shampoo for blondes - one which I use myself) and thought "good, she'll use that." All of my previous stylists have used that, or a similar one, to help tone my hair. Instead, a toner is placed in my hair for 1 minute in the sink and I'm rinsed with no shimmer lights wash. The color turned out absolutely awful. I don't think the color was done properly, and she should have kept it in mind that I didn't want it too platinum. A beige, or pearl toner would have been better. It's, chunky, and blocked looking. Worst of all it's a fake yellow/platinum level color that washes out my complexion. It looks worse when I wear it up, and looks like I've grown out of a skunky highlight job. She went out for a cigarette, and didn't wash her hands as she rinsed out the morrocan oil mask. I wanted a blunt cut, no a-line, and still the front of my hair is slightly longer. I left disappointed. Got charged for the toner. Cash only, so had to run next door and pay banking fees. The cherry on top? While drying my hair, she burns my scalp with the dryer and causes me to nearly jump out of the chair and then asks if my doctor has mentioned me being low in iron I'm caught off guard and say yes, then I remember I was tested low on B12. Next thing I know, she says well, don't just start taking any vitamins, go and get tested. Iron is good for women and their stomachs and pats her belly (I'm slightly overweight), and so at this point I'm fuming angry. How does a HAIR appointment turn into what's good for the rest of the body. I get it, she's looking at my scalp, just like a dentist looks into your mouth, and can see issues we don't know about.. but, the stomach thing, left me fairly upset. NEVER GOING BACK. If you are blonde, and want the right color, spend the money elsewhere.

Very good service. I came here with and without a groupon and it always went well. Marissa took a very good care of my hair and even made me suggestions and I was very happy with the result, which is very important since I am a on-cam reporter. I would recommend Marissa to anyone, she's sweet and nice.

Very skillful and knowledgeable hairdressers. Come here if you'd like a contemporary haircut and to dye your hair in a professional way.

I found Hairway Salon thru Groupon about 3 years ago. First and most importantly, those negative reviews are NOT true. Sofia has been taking care of my hair and she always does a fabulous job. I have not been disappointed and I feel comfortable enough that should I not be happy, I know Sofia will look after it with the goal of customer satisfaction. My parents travel from the west end as they too are very happy with Sofia. My dad said there is no one that can cut his hair properly like Sofia! I recommend Sofia to my friends and family.

I used my groupon for full colour, cut and moroccon hair oil treatment. Hair looks amazing and Sophie is great, I have no idea why there are bad reviews on here. I'll be going back for hair cuts and colour moving forward. I haven't been able to find a salon that I really like so go here and there but I would definetly come back here Sophie also did a blow dry and style and didn't charge extra for it. I was charged $17 extra and I have long thin hair. Honestly I thought I'd be charged more due to hair length and tax is also due. Only thing is they don't accept credit card and I only had a $20 on me as I rarely carry cash. Would have left more tip had I had more cash Regardless I thought this salon did a great job, is clean, full service and I will come back
