I ordered a chicken rice platter and a chicken shawarma. Disappointed to the core of how old the chicken tasted. It felt eating a potato super dry and mushy. Rice was ok and the chicken shawarma was at best 3/10. If you’re looking for a shawarma place you can find a better one than this. Food quality not so qualified. Service was friendly and nice. Hence, the 2 stars.
I ordered chicken and rice platter and a beef and rice platter through skip the dish. They didn't have any rice so they decided to just send meat and extra salad. This is unacceptable and a good way to loose customers. A waist for $30. Never again.
Edit** dropped 2 stars to 1. After reading prior reviews, its clear to me that this place doesnt seem to care when it comes to selling old food. Older reviews talking about old dry chicken etc. So far it seems this place hasnt changed. Accountability matters and now I feel uneasy about the food I just ate. A prime example as to why Google reviews need to be investigated. From what I can tell.. this is place is overrated so far. People need to give their pita chips a smell test before eating them and you'll quickly realize they're incredibly old pita chips. Taking on the cardboard scent of their original container. The grapevine leaves are covered in old oil that's sat long enough to separate the fat.. leaving them looking absolutely horrid. Couldn't even come around to eating them. How ever, I'm not bias. I did really enjoy their take on an east coast donair but all the ladder has me wondering.. what else are they pushing to sell, instead of restocking fresh?
I had a beef wrap. Great flavour and quality. The homemade hot sauce is unique as it's actually a paste, very tasty with a good kick. The wraps are a little smaller than some places, but the price reflects that. Friendly owner who is proud of his food and even does his own pickling! I'll be back.
Great food and service. Easy to order, man behind bar happy to give recommendations. Yeah, the food was pretty damn nice. I had a pretty good lentil soup, rice yellow rice, and a chicken shawarma with turnip, onion, lettuce, tomato and a couple of sauces they had in house. The only thing is I feel like they aren't cleaning the dining area nearly enough. My shoes were sticking to the floors in some areas, the cushions were stained and there was old food stuck on the table I was sitting at.
VERY surprised! Popped in on a whim, figured... What's to be expected from a shawarma place directly in front of a college?? Not much right? Boy was I ever wrong! Tried the chicken shawarma plate and sandwich, beef shawarma sandwich, hummus and fattoush. Beef shawarma is super hard to get right, even by the most experienced shawarma masters, so that one was not the best, especially since it was pre-made and not on a skewer. The chicken sandwich was deeeelicious. My favorite was the chicken plate. Hadi made it carb free with fattoush, extra garlic, hummus, and that yummy hot sauce ... And WOW!! Mouthwateringly delicious!! Turns out everything in the shop is made in house and never purchased pre-made. And I mean everything! The pickles are pickled right there, the garlic sauce which was fantastic, hummus, everything! Service couldn't have been better. This man serves his customers with a big smile and a joke that will definitely leave you smirking at the very least. When in London I will definitely be hitting this place up every time!
Wish I’d give these guys a 4 star. Their sauces & veggies are real tasty. They lost a star for not trimming the chicken fat off their shawarma. Not grilling them after cutting it off the spindle to ensure it’s purely cooked ... & they def lost another star for the upset stomach I had after ordering and eating a chicken salad. I’ll just order the kabobs next time to be safe..
Fresh tasty shawarma made fast! Delicious home-made got sauce! The only unsettling fact was they had a big sign out front advertising $6.50 but when I got in the price was 7.50 & they said the signs 2 years old. As if that’s a reasonable excuse.. in my world and business u have to honor your own mistakes! That’s why you dont put a permanent price on your window! People should only be charged $6.50 till they update it! It’s false advertising! 2 days outdated would be understandable, not 2 years!
The service was great. The sauces and grape leaves were great. My problem was with the chicken, it was dry, in fact very dry…I should have opted for kebab or something…I might try this place later on early hours maybe…
My second time coming here and soon a third, great place for students who want more flavour than what the campus offers.Food: 5/5
