Just OUTSTANDING - not to be missed. Habrae by far offers the BEST tasting Thia food in Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park areas. We so enjoyed the Thai sausage which is made in house the meat was tender, moist and flavorful. The Chicken Curry Puff were off the chain the outside of the puff super flaky and inside was a bust of flavor just delightful. The Tum Yum Chicken soup was flavorful and loaded with great veggies. Best of all, the food is served piping hot with steam rolling off - none of that luke warm food. For my fellow foodies this place is a real treat.
Tried Habrae with my kiddo and we loved every bite! Interesting menu that stands apart from other Thai restaurants with a large selection of Thai drinks and desserts and a good amount of vegetarian options. I look forward to trying more! Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian section on the menu with many delicious choices.
This is, so far, the best Thai restaurant I've been to. The food was amazing. I got Khao Soi and it was flavored perfectly. I asked for it to be made milder and I think it became better. It had a slight kick, but it was simultaneously sweet. It was amazing. The curry puffs were also very authentic: the pastry was very flaky and the potato and chicken stuffing was perfectly flavored. The service was very very friendly and attentive. The owner came over to say hello and talk about the food. It was obvious him and his wife were very passionate about the food. Very highly recommended restaurant. Vegetarian options: Most dishes have tofu or vegetable options.
Everything from food, to atmosphere, to service was so great. Definitely some of the best Thai food I’ve had anywhere. Love the casual/sit down vibe and they were so accommodating for our kids, who also have egg and peanut allergies. The front office staff was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating of the allergies, and even double checked on our request menu even had contains labels. For the kids, they also brought out silicone plates and silverware for them, made a special kids meal for them upon request, and brought the kids food out super quick. And the food was so aromatic, flavorful, beautiful, and fresh. I’ll definitely be back.
I love the food and atmosphere here! Authentic and unique Thai food with very fresh ingredients. I highly recommend their delicious milk/tea/tapioca drinks and desserts as well. The owner is very sweet and attentive!
This is the best Thai food I have ever had! The Khao Soi is phenomenal -- the curry broth warms your belly and the contrast between the crunchy noodles and soft egg noodles is amazing, perfect for a cold winter night! We also got the puffs curry, taro, and basil and desserts Thai ice cream and roti which were all delicious, both in flavor and texture! If we weren't already super full, we would have definitely gotten their specialty desserts displayed by the counter. The decor of the restaurant is perfect for a date night and Jump was a delight to talk to, and super knowledgable and inviting. We will definitely be back again!
Habrae Thai is a Forest Park gem. Located on Madison a few blocks west of Harlem. This visit was to try out some sweets, noodles and papaya salad. We ordered Puffs, Som Tum and Khao Soi. They have quite a menu based on curry sauces and broths. Timing is great, we started and liked the chicken basil puffs. If you like empanadas you will enjoy the very flaky dough. I'm a bit picky with my Som Tum so I cringe when I see the use of mandolins or graters... Theirs' is a standard papaya, carrot, tomatoes, beans and peanut salad. Would like a bit of tamarind or shrimp paste to make it authentic. On my palate, the lime over-powers the papaya. The Khao Soi stole the show. Presented in a shareable bowl with a crunchy "noodle puck" it's definitely a not to miss item. The noodles and curry are delightful and the beef so tasty. The red curry was a perfect blend of heat and sweetness. We ordered an egg tart to go and have not yet eaten at this writing. Service was friendly and cheerful. Fair warning, this is not a traditional low cost Thai noodle and rice place. While desserts and boba are on par with other local places. The menu is "elevated" Thai by pricing standards. We will definitely return to Habrae for more noodles and hand made desserts.
This place is so cute and so close to home Im so happy it opened. The authentic food beats the rest in the surrounding area. And i love that they have desserts and fruit teas with boba! My favorite things are any spicy curry, the chicken curry puffs to die for, and their lychee tea with boba. Also the owner is so nice and attentive!
The experience here was fantastic! The place is nice, small, and cozy. I got wonderful recommendations from the host and the food was brought out in a timely manner and displayed wonderfully!
Go try Habrae immediately.! Texture and flavor unlike any Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. I had the Khao Kang Karee Kai and it was delightful. Sweet, spicy, crunchy and now, constantly running through my head. Remarkably kind and prompt service. I’ll be back, for sure.Dine in: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: No
