Ha Long Bay

Ay carumba! Got myself a Tofu Bánh mì to-go from this downtown local vietnamese eatery, wow this was tasty and one of the best Bánh mì I have experienced in a while. A very plentiful portion of tofu and veggies within an extremely fresh tasting, soft and cloud-like Baguette. I'm pretty stoked about this place and going to come back to try their veggie Pho Chay as it seems a great vietnamese grabbing joint. They had a lot of regular customers who came in and asked for "same as usual" when taking a seat which gives me confidence this is an authentic and down to earth local-kitchen type restaurant. Little gems like this are hard to find and I think I may have just struck gold! Efficient service, ready in 5 minutes from friendly, helpful and talented staff. The restaurant is a nice, basic and clean area with a nice chilled out vibe. Support local businesses!

Unfortunately stumbled across Ha Long Bay downtown as I was craving noodle soup and decided to support local. No music, smells funky inside old building, and minimal/no service. It’s also located in a sketchier part of town, so overall I would NOT recommend coming here. My order: Thick noodle with beef hock spicy noodle soup I’m assuming this is their Bun Bo Hue $11. They used regular pho noodles instead of the thick noodles. Maybe they ran out of thick noodles, but I wasn’t informed prior. The soup was mediocre, and was on the sour/tangy side even without adding the lime juice. Not spicy either. Few slices of pork hock, beef and Vietnamese ham.

This is amazing place for Vietnamese pho type food. Their soup broth is clear and really good, content and portion just right and much better than expected, when observe closely, can see the small and clear "oil rings" on surface of broth, as proof to that the soup has been served with rich flavor. I went there at dinner hour, no lineup, no long waiting, service was friendly and feel welcomed. Overall, a very nice place for just eat.

I got #12 BBH small size as usual $9.50 and the noodle was overcooked. It was all broken when I tried using chopstick to eat it, but ended up scooping noodles using spoon instead. Soup was good! Service was friendly.

Very tiny space, looks clean. Order a "Special Pho", soup is clear and nice, more to a lighter flavor, the meat looks fresh, but portion is too little. Food quality is about 4 star. But the amount of meat is too little, and it is too pricey compared to other Pho places. It is $11.03 before tax.

Use to come here all time back in 2010-2013 and it was incredible but just came back and the portions and food was not the same quality or quantity. Very stingy on meat. Use to be a diamond but I think its lost its touch. 4 pieces of meat for a whole pho brothe

I am a regular customer, and there is always a small line up outside the shop waiting for seats during lunch rush at 12. I suggest to go here around 1:30 to avoid the crowds. Sometimes I come in at 3:30 in the afternoon due to work and the food quality is still as good. My regular dishes are salad rolls, and the house special pho 1st item on the menu in large. After tax and tips it comes to 18 dollars, which is very reasonable in Vancouver area, a bargain in Downtown.

Tasty pho broth! Pho lovers will know the broth is key, and this place has aromatic broth with good flavour. Fast service too.

I went here today for lunch and thankfully I went solo because I was able to get a seat at the “bar” and it was great! This place also has seating for about 15. But if you come with a group come after the lunch rush.

Friendly servers. They have put photos of their foods on the wall, good for people having vietnames food for first time.
