Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu De Sherbrooke (Chus)

After 5 hours, and only several people in the waiting room, still waiting. I wasn’t impressed when the emergency inscription secretary asked me if I am from Quebec! Did you not see my family name and my healthcare card? Why? You asked because I am a bilingual anglophone? Do you ask Francophone patients the same question? Is that an indication that you will pass me last or not provide me with quality care? I will soon find out. Not impressed. Maybe I should go to another hospital?

I would give it five stars, however the staff needs more English because it's hard to communicate with them when French is not your 1st language. It feels like the staff is angry with you because you can't understand or ask questions in French. The doctor was good and one nurse was wonderful at psychological emergency however the other staff should be better in English. Because of that I give 2 stars not five. Are physical and mental health issues are important and we need English-speaking, please. My French is not that good to understand 100%..

When I can get an appointment the doctors are wonderful and polite. However the nurses and secretaries are far from English friendly. All of the automated messages other than for the appointment center are all in French and spoken so fast that they are unintelligible to someone who knows a little bit of French. Been on a waiting list to see a psych for a very important reason that I can not list here. Had to to pay to see a psych for said condition elsewhere and I am STILL on the waiting list with no word from the hospital. I was put on a "waiting list" to see a physical therapist for my back after a trip to the ER 3 years ago and I have yet to hear from anyone about it. I was scheduled for surgery on my ankle and I was prepped and waiting in preop for over 12 hours and was told an hour and a half after my surgery was supposed to be that it was cancelled and that I could go home. I have had plenty more bad experiences in this place than I would like to to list here. Enough that I now dread needing to go to the hospital out of fear of being ignored or worse.

This hospital actually denied to check me after arriving on a ambulance made me tale a cab to another hospital where they finally took care of me rude staff unhappy workers worst hospital ive ever seen

Merci to Dr. Gervais and my surgeon Dr. Thibodeau they are kind and compasionate and understanding Doctors. Thank you for taking care of me during my surgery last week and yes I'm feeling better. Also to your team and staff from entering into the hospital during my surgery and in recovery. Great people and great hospital. Thank you very much. Charlene

I was a patient recently and cannot say enough wonderful things about my care - room was spacious, nursers and nurses's aids could not have been more accommodating and courteous...

This is a wonderful place. The staff are amazing. My grandmother was there in palliative care and they took amazing care of her. Thank you so much from me and my family

Very good STAFF. NO LONG HOUR WAITING. TAKE CARE OF PATIENTS VERY WELL. I APPRECIATE THERE SERVICE.

La plus pire hôpital! Les medicins sont “unbelievably “ stupids! I’d rather die than going there! Even one star is a lot!

I m still waiting here for more than 4 hours because my stomach aches and still here in the so called "emergency" area.
