Kid friendly and we had the best guide today! He was so good with the kids, asked great questions AND gave all the kids a chance to answer! Plus he’d been to all the maritime museums we’d been to and Battleship Cove so that was fun for the kids also. It’s a small but really well done piece of history! Our guide also recommended a fun kid friendly restaurant we really enjoyed Rudy’s so thank you Mr. Guide
Nice little museum. We were the only visitors on a cold and hard blowing January day, and the staff and volunteers were genuinely glad to see us. Nice exhibits, well maintained, even some hands-on stuff, well worth a stop, highly recommend.
What a fantastic place for families, children, it's well priced and there is a lot to experience with helpful people always there to provide information.
Way cooler than you'd think from the outside. The real meat of the tour isn't indoors, it's going through the ships with a guide. Let Tim take you on a tugboat tour, the guy knows everything about everything!
If you love history of the great lakes and boating.... This is the place. Staff gave us very informative talk on the vessels docked at the museum.
Learn everything you want to know and more about maritime history on Lake Ontario, the Oswego River and Canal. Tours of the museum and boat trip to the West Pierhead Lighthouse are world class destination trips! Access kayak, bike and snowshoe rentals on property with Oswego Expeditions.
Very cool museum that is a must-see for any local history fans. But, since they've opened the lighthouse tour, this has moved way up on my "must see" for everyone. You can take a short boat ride out to the lighthouse for a really unique tour and a vantage point of Oswego you won't otherwise get.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Quality museum with great exhibits and information. The boats outside are great touring places. It’s totally worth it.
the boat ride and lighthouse tour people were great telling stories and history. it was a great day for the tour and views and such were terrific. it is a smaller lighthouse, with not lots to see, however still interesting and a functional lighthouse. easy to park and access, nearby parks and walking areas that can also be quite enjoyable as it is all on the shoreline of Ontario lake, just wonderful
We only visited the lighthouse. Not the museum. The guides in the lighthouse or either former lighthouse keepers or descendants of former lighthouse keepers and were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The boat trip over was also exciting in its own way but that’s a story for another day.Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$21–30
