I first met Jay in 2008 after I quit smoking and needed to lose weight. In 2014 as I approached my 70th birthday, I decided I needed to get in better shape and this was the only place I wanted to train. my wife and I have been having sessions with Jay and sometimes Amanda Hunter since last summer. I'm quite a bit stronger and more fit than I was when we started. Some days are really hard and some are not so hard, but every day there is worth. Jay knows his business and there are a lot of fun and interesting people who also work out there.

My husband and I have been going for personal training there 2 to 3 times a week for 8 months now. We are both over 60 y.o. Gerry is reasonably fit, but I have been very far from it. I can do a lot of things now that I couldn't begin to do when I started. I have lost over 20 pounds. I am skiing better than I have for several years. In fact I didn't ski at all last season. I like that Jay has accepted where I was at and moved me along without making me feel bad about what I couldn't do. I have enjoyed working with Jay and with Amanda, another trainer there. I am quite surprised to find myself saying I actually miss working out if we don't get to go. I even find myself exercising at the little gyms in motels when we travel. That is not at all like me.

More than a gym. It's a community of people interested in improving their health and becoming more fit. Lots of fun workout options. But there are also opportunities to get outside and run, bike (road and mountain bike) and swim with fun people. No problem if you're a newbie or out-of-shape. GymJay is a fun place to get moving like a kid, whether you're just getting into shape or if you're already killin' it. Sorry about the reviewer who needed jumper cables -- the people inside GymJay are great folks, who would be more than willing to help out someone in need.
