SO I'M NOT FURTHER THREATENED FOR SLANDER, I'D LIKE TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT ALL OF THIS IS BASED ON MY OPINION AND NOT FACT. THE THINGS I STATE ABOUT THE FACILITY CAN BE BACKED BY PHOTOS. MY THOUGHTS ON THE PEOPLE ARE JUST MY OPINION AND ARE ALLOWED SINCE WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. IN MY OPINION, Don't bother going to this gym. IN MY OPINION, The owner & team isn't focused on offering a good facility, but only seem to be concerned about getting your monthly payments. IN MY OPINION, I'M Not sure what they do with our membership payments, as NOTHING get invested back into the gym. IN MY OPINION, Everything is neglected. There is a broken mirror, broken clock, their sewage system is messed up too- which leaves the gym smelling like donkey's rear end. The AC is broken, and the outdoors is actually cooler than in the Gym in the Summer. IN MY OPINION, YOU CAN Expect to be spammed with emails from them, but don't expect a prompt response back from any of their staff or the owner. IN MY OPINION, The owner offers deals that he doesn't keep up or denies. IN MY OPINION, IT'S Sad to see business owners do it to them selves. There used to be smart, caring and friendly trainers that freelanced there. They have since booted them out and their clientele, & IN MY OPINION, they replaced them with very rude and gym-ignorant people. IN MY OPINION, Just because you can pass the CanfitPro test, doesn't mean you know anything about training. IN MY OPINION, These girls are unpleasant, belittle you, stare at you while you work-out... and I think they will seriously injure someone with their lack of knowledge. That scares me! I don't usually write complaints, BUT IN MY OPINION, I need to protect people from investing their time and hard-earned money into this fifthly cesspool of unhealthy nonsense. IN MY OPINION, If you like toxic smells and toxic environments then go to Gymify...if that's not for you GO ANYWHERE ELSE! ****UPDATE**** UPDATE: SEE THE OWNERS RETORT TO MY HONEST REVIEW ---IN MY OPINION THIS MAKES THEM LOOK EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS all of the below are my opinions -Look at the owner's response - would a professional breech the privacy of their past client's? Safety is evidently not a concern. We signed their gym membership contract that stated client confidentially and in laymen’s terms: that member’s personal information would NEVER be given out. Also in that contract, it said that freelance personal trainers were allowed to train at the gym, but needed to state they were not an employee of the gym. I have a copy of that - feel free to get in touch to see a copy of it- since Amir so kindly handed you all my private information you'll know where to message me. We also have a special contract he personally signed, with more than enough material to take legal action, but I'll say no more about that, as I respect confidentially, unlike some people. Beyond that, the only bad reviews we ever got were from Amir and his band of newly hired goons at Gymify. SO, dismiss HIS ‘slanderous’ comments: No illegal training and no complaints on our part! Gymify really showed their cards with this unprofessional behavior. We back or comments with proof, and they back theirs...well, with nothing! Also, standing as a national ambassador, as Miss Canada 2013, I can vouch that I have seen a lot of good business and bad business across the country. In my opinion, Gymify is one of those toxic environments that engages in bad business practice. All the best. Proof is in the pudding.
The gym itself used to be decent when I first went there. However I see that it is in continuing rapid decline. I'm paying 30 a month for this gym and paying for maintenance fees, but half the equipment is either broken or in really poor shape. The squat rack floor is uneven which is really unsafe. The mirrors are cracked, and benches are all torn up. Don't even know why I'm paying for this gym, as I'd probably be better off going to a different gym. Sad.
Joined this gym few months ago. I have been enjoying going to the Streetsville location, I love the environment and how easy it was to join the gym. I love the idea of opening the door with my cellphone, yes you heard it right, I open the gym door with my cellphone! How cool is that? I also love the owners, whenever I get a chance to meet them it is a delight to talk to them, specially Amir! So far everything has been going great, lets hope it stays that way forever! Keep it up guys!
EDIT: gymify streetsville has closed down as it has not paid rent. Locks gave been changed. Second location this has happened to. No notice given. CEO Jessica Dawn Clattenburg still refusing calls. She is very unprofessional. Do not recommend getting into any sort of business with her. She obviously knew her business was going down the drain but still let new members join to take advantage of them. I'd advise everyone to call their credit card company to inform them of what has happened and never join gymify or deal with Jessica Dawn Clattenburg if they ever open up a new location. Consider looking into the consumer protection act. The gym itself is what you'd expect for a budget gym but enough to get your workout done. The benches are ripped, the floor is perpetually riddled with dirt and dust, and garbage bins are overflowing. A large majority of members lack basic etiquette and don't rerack their weights. I'm giving this gym a one star because I can barely enter the gym to experience it. The instant access they guarantee is pure fiction. I joined this gym a week ago, and have had to return home twice in three days as I could not access it. The first time, I could not enter the gym because their Web page would not load. I had no issues accessing other Web pages, just the gymify access page. Jessica, the CEO of the gym, claimed there were no issues with their Webpage. However, I've seen other reviewers mention the same thing, and recently saw another member knocking on the window as there "was a connection error". Jessica does not take responsibility for these errors and passes on the blame. Don't expect anyone to pick up the phone when you call their customer service. Despite calling within the hours, Jessica has never picked up the phone. The first time this happened I let it go as Jessica gave me a fob key to use instead. While I was annoyed that their site falsely advertised instant online access, my objective was to go to the gym. I thought my problems were fixed so I said nothing further. However, 2 days later, the fob key itself did not work. I entered the gym the prior day no issues, and now 1 day later it was no longer working. Safe to say I had once again wasted my time, fuel, and money to stand outside the building and admire its shoddy interiors from outside. I left several messages via email and on the phone. It has been days and Jessica has not had to courtesy to reply. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I chose this gym due to its location. If you have the means to attend another gym, I suggest you choose the other location. If you have any issues with the gym, Jessica will ignore you. She is hardly ever at the gym during the advertised staffed hours and it is hence impossible to have someone address any issues.
Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I only signed up because of location- biggest regret ever. I signed up two months before they randomly closed....you would know well ahead of time if your company is going under, so I don't get why they'd let me sign up or at least tell me? The gym was very smelly and dirty within those two months that I went there. Its clear there was little to no effort to maintain the place. They're still charging me every month and there's no phone number to contact, just an email. I've emailed them at least a dozen times without a response. These people are absolute crooks.
Love going here...it's super close to my house, always open so I can get in a great workout whenever I have time and my schedule is all over the place. I recently joined and also got a Personal Training package for a great value! My trainer - Valentina is really dedicated to making me reach my fitness goals and really took the time to listen to what I am looking to achieve for myself, she went through an entire, very comprehensive fitness assessment with me, nutrition plan and monitors & tracks all my progress. I have been working out with her for 5 weeks now and have already seen results, I've lost weight, become stronger and just feel better all around : I would definitely recommend this gym to people who are looking for convenience, good equipment, great staff and just a place where they won't be judge no matter what their level of fitness is!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. DON'T JOIN! When I joined this gym last year. It was great. I had nothing but nice things to say. In the last 6-8 months its gone so far downhill that I'm pretty sure a community centre gym would be better. I've had to e-mail them numerous time re: temperature control. It get so hot in there that the floors get damp and slippery. I've had to step out in the middle of a workout just to be able to breathe. There is no ventilation so it constantly stinks because the temperature is so damn hot. If you're not going to watch it at least leave it unlocked so that it can be adjusted by gym users. Sure, when I e-mail them it eventually gets rectified, but I'm not supposed to constantly advise them of maintenance issues. I'm not on their payroll. And to make matters worse I just got charged a "maintenance fee" of $40. I never authorized this charge, nor is it on the contract. I'm a law student-- trust me I know how to read a contract. They had no authority to charge my card-- and others have posted the same things. Bottom line, if it wasn't for the $20 membership plan I got as a promo, I'd be out-- frankly it's only a matter of time before I cancel. I rather pay 15$ more at goodlife and get a decent workout experience. DON'T JOIN!
The gym it self was great. After having some trouble with my account I was a little unhappy with the customer service. This was before speaking with Hamid, who sorted everything out with a respectful and friendly attitude. He was quick to follow up with any problems I had, and made sure everything was perfect on my end. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely go back.
This is a really nice facility with top of the line Matrix equipment you expect from a high end fitness centre and to make this gym even more attractive is their pricing! Overall a great value and a comfortable workout environment. I would recommend this to anyone in need of a convenient gym in the Mississauga area.
If you can get a deal it might be worth it. But for me personally, not a good experience. Cons are they have 5 treadmills and only 2 of them work at the moment for about a month now. They don't have a lot of weight plates so if it's busy, you'll have to weight to get what you want. There's no showers. If your a mass bodybuilder this is definitely not the gym. They also have a broken mirror so you can't check your form... Pros, it's at a good location for me, I got a Boxing Day deal of 20 a month paid all at once. It's available 24/7, and peole keep to themselves, no discrimination. Also time is hard to see as the digital clock is faded and I asked them to fix or replace the 65 pound Dumbbells couple months ago because it's dangerous, they said ok thank you for your time and they did nothing about it. It's not a place that really cares about your opinion. That's my take on it
