Would like to give no stars but have to give atleast one. Not impressed with this business at all. They totally messed up on a young girls prom dress and would not give a refund. The dress was a size 8 was suppose to be sized down to a size 4....they sized it down to a size 0...then tried to resize it back up to a size 4 (hope you all can get that mental image) the dress looks horrible....and she wont give a refund back to a single mom who is trying to give her daughter the best prom she can. I would tell everyone to stay away from this place, rip off artist.

One star is way too high!!!!! Buyers Beware!!!! Look at the old Google reviews if you want to know what your experience at Gwen's Bridal could be....For some reason Gwen decided to put us through hell with our purchase..seems like she periodically targets certain customers?? .....we finally did get our daughters Prom dress after almost two months of stress and deceit and this was only because we maintained meticulous photos, phone records and receipts... In hindsight I looked at some old google reviews...... seems this has been going on for a long time....incredible similarities to our experience...practically a carbon copy! Run away!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrived at 11:20 am. Store hours were listed as opening at 11:00 am. The door was locked. There was a person inside who chose to ignore us, and there was no way she didn't know we were at the door. Too bad for this boutique. Went down the road To Karma Prom and Formal and got the greatest service and left with a wedding gown and headpiece.

I cant dole out less than one star, if i could, I sure would. I was the maid of honor in a wedding . From the moment we walked in, the owner had an attitude. At first glance, I thought there was no way in hell I was buying a dress here. The floor was bare, the dressing room was a corner with a curtain and a clothesline. But the bride was desperately trying to get all the girls in one style and one color. The dresses she had us try on were far to big, and the styles were far too old. She offered the bride an Alfred Angelo catalogue to chose from. She also kept saying " oh i cant get that syle" or that one, but i can get this one"when the bride was going through the book. The girls picked their dresses, colors and styles and paid for their down payment. Fast forward... About a month and a half and no one had heard from the shop. The dresses should have come in a few weeks, but hadnt. So I hit the internet and started to do some background info. Turns out, this shop, and the owner are very good at not supplying what people pay for. Also I emailed Alfred Angelo myself to confirm if she was an authorized dealer of this name brand. Gwens Bridal is not! That is why the dresses and catalouges were so old ! Alfred Angelo confirmed that they have sent numerous cease and disist letters by their legal team and she continues to ignore them. The dresses she sells under the false pretense come from a factory in China, through to NYC and on to Montreal. So Its probably safe to assume the correct amount of duty and tariffs arent properly paid either. Long story short. After a month and a half of phone calls, broken promises. And tears. The mother of the bride had to physically go to the shop and demand dresses on the spot, as the wedding was a week away. So the dresses the girls wore were all different colors and different sizes. When all she had wanted was purple. One had red, one had black, one was blue....Some had the back panels were they laced missing, some had the sample stiched to them. But Gwen made damn sure the girls paid full value of the dresses, even though they werent what they originally paid for. I wish we had seen all the horror stories before we had even walked into the store. So brides, stay away from this store. Do not spend your money there. Do not waste your time. Also, if you visit the reviews on her FB page, I find it ironic that for every bad review she recieved, moments later a postive review comes along. I think she has her family and friends regularly gaurd her page and counter attack anything negative. Also, finally. She is not registered with the Nova Scotia BBB. But that still doesnt stop them from giving out a failing grade. Seriously. Do not shop here.

Doesn't even deserve one star! Have gone to the store twice during posted business hours and the door was locked with no notice and now I read other reviews stating the same and that they are not reliable.
