I never review. But u better not let David portnoy near this place. Zero crust. Zero sauce. All cheese. Literally like an under done breadstick. I asked for a well done maybe some cheese browned. Drenched in grease. Had to pat it down before this pic. Full flop. Couldn’t bite it more than 2 times. 2.8 tops. Oh and my soaking wet salad that should feed one person. I think the head of lettuce chunk does the justice. Literally I have brown lettuce and there isn’t anything not soaked. Might help if they made it when u order not sit in a fridge for probably days. Once u take dressing out maybe 5 bites of lettuce minus the head of lettuce chunk never cut.
I don’t typically leave negative reviews. But I’ve lived in Howell my entire life and used to love the breadsticks. Multiple people have complained about them being doughy in the middle, and you’re still serving raw dough?? This isn’t even the middle being raw. You can completely tell from the outside. This is disgusting and I can’t believe I spent $7 on a bag of dough. I didn’t open them until I got home or I would’ve given them back. Unacceptable, short staffed or not you cannot serve raw items. Please do better.
If I could give this zero stars, I would. From the start the YOUNG employees were rude.. The ribs I had bought were NOT EVEN Lukewarm, they were cold and had so much fat on them that they weren’t enjoyable in the slightest. The salad had pieces of lettuce in it that were as big as the container that the salad came in! The ranch and garlic cream cheese containers had a layer of dried food all of over them. Lastly the bread bag was not even sealed on the bottom, so when we removed the bag of bread, all of it fell to the floor. Will never be eating here again!!! $40 wasted. Just ridiculous.
So Gus's... it's really hit or miss. Sometimes the pizza we get here is the best, sometimes its just this side of decent. The people are always friendly and helpful, and all I ever get here is pizza. If every visit wasn't so enjoyable, I'd have to go with two stars for the inconsistency. Must say that the gambler's fallacy has me going back often, though!
Disappointed! Ordered chicken and rib dinner for two. Chicken was entirely undercooked! Bag of breadsticks was soaked in a yellow liquid, bag was torn and leaked all over. Have always loved the food here, but was a long drive, price was not what it said on website. Chicken was thrown away. Mostaciolli was bland, not much sauce. Greek salad was good. The very undercooked chicken was the worst.
NEED COLD BREADSTICKS TO GO? We have been getting their breadsticks for carry out forever. Always loved them. Then last year seemed every other order they were doughy. Now the most recent problem is they switched their to-go bags from an aluminum "insulated" bag that would keep the breadsticks warm. Well their new pretty bags that have their logo on them ensure your breadsticks are cold by the time you get home. Complete trash.
Bummed out! I love Gus’s & it’s a go to for us ladies at work. I ate pretty much my whole salad & found a bug I’d never seen before. I think it was on the prepackaged apples that come with the chicken salad. Please watch out. In all fairness, my lunch was refunded. On top of the bug, I didn’t even mention we did not get the extra ranch’s & the sauce for the breadsticks that we ordered and paid for. Rough visit but we still love Gus’s. Gonna take awhile to recover from that bug though!
Excellent breadsticks and ranch, Greek salad quite good. Pizza however was not very good at all ours came with 1” of solid rubber like cheese,very little sauce and no flavor whatsoever. Ordered a Large pepperoni and could not even eat the first piece that bad. Very disappointed used to love their pizza.
C'mon, it's Gus's Carryout. They have great salads and awesome breadsticks. You can't go wrong. Which would you rather have, unlimited average salad and breadsticks, or a limited amount of awesome salad and breadsticks. The choice is clear. Olive garden sucks.
Recently visited and was reminded why I love this place—high quality and made from scratch food, excellent service, and the Greek dressing. This is a must-stop. Every time I’m in the area I make sure to weave Gus’s into my plans. I’d give double stars if I could.
