Outstanding food by Chef Allyson. Last year we were wowed by the quality of the food and beautiful new decor. We then booked our annual October stay here and we were not disappointed. Every appetizer we sampled was delicious, the main of pan fried pickerel and vegetables was exquisite. The dessert shared among the 4 of us devoured. The staff were all really helpful, and attentive despite the main area of the restaurant being full. We have booked our stay for next year.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner here! We were a group of nine so tried several things on the menu and all were delicious. The portions are generous and the menu is varied. The classic margarita was excellent! The restaurant was particularly busy for a Tuesday evening but the staff of three handled it seamlessly. They made us aware that it might take a little longer to receive our food because it was busy but remained attentive to our table the whole evening and were all extremely pleasant and friendly. The decor is really lovely as well. Bright and airy and the three season room is spacious and you really feel you are dining outside without having to deal with mosquitos. Highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.
Food, service and cocktails were amazing Everything was made from scratch. Their burgers were the best we've ever had and their cocktails menu was great, including a variety of specialty non-alcoholic choices, too. Restaurant was also very well decorated. Highly recommend if in the area.
Wow wow wow what can I say everything about our stay here was beyond outstanding. The cabins were clean and super tidy. I had ripped my jacket coming up here and really wanted to go snowmobiling I was bummed I couldn't go Jodi went above and beyond to find me a jacket to make sure I stayed warm and could still have some fun! I wanted to go ice fishing but not the full day the staff were very accommodating to my request and only charged me for half day at a very very reasonable rate Joy at the gas station was beyond helpful and very very accommodating awesome attitude and just a pleasure to be around along with Jodie,the food was awesome and tasted phenomenal it was nice that some faces still remembered us from our first time out here in summer this place is a diamond in the rough and everyone was so pleasant and polite and awesome to deal with we will 100% be back in the summer again!
This afternoon we had lunch at the Gull Harbour Marina, one of just many times we have eaten there. It was very busy and I must say all the staff were amazing they were attentive constantly checking in and welcoming as always. Thank you to Judy, Brad and Hayden you really are amazing!!!!
We had a wonderful meal. There was 17 of us and they were so accommodating. We made a reservation and they were ready for us when we arrived. Abi was our server and he was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience a nice one. Our food was timely, hot, fresh and so delicious. They served the kids meals within 15 minutes of ordering them, the adults weren’t far behind. We were in and out within 90 minutes. The atmosphere is friendly for various occasions and all the staff seemed very friendly and happy to have us, even being such a large group. They were very accommodating to my dad who is diabetic and avoids carbs and sugar, they made him the pickerel cheeks dish over vegetables instead. He said the flavour was amazing and this was his favourite meal of the vacation so far! We had quite a few things on the menu, everyone had rave reviews! The portions are very adequate and the kids menu is very good value. The Pickerel cheeks are a must have, the arugula salad was a great winter salad, the Brussel sprouts and my daughter loved the poutine. Even the fact that the fries were seasoned with salt and pepper, there is definitely a chef in the kitchen! We will be back and highly recommend it.
The Gull Harbour Marina has been completely renovated, and yet kept the traditional look of Hecla Island. The staff is always helpful & friendly, and some of the dishes come right from Lake Winnipeg.Food: 5/5
The food here is consistently great. Fresh pan fried pickerel, very pleasant staff… great day trip lunch spot.
Went to eat at the restaurant with my family while staying at the lake view hotel and it was so good. The food presentation and atmosphere was great… the service was really good and they accommodated my meal to be vegan and getting creative with sauce replacements… I left feeling full for the whole night…looking forward to going back.
Best pickerel on the island, wait no, in the province! Service was great! Had lunch there for two straight days. Had steak the first day, which was really good. Then had the fish tacos the following day, which was flavourful. The fries were cooked well too, just the right crunchiness and thickness for my taste. We will definitely be back if we’re in the locale! If you’re in Hecla Island, call ahead and make a reservation!
