Zeroooo star!!!nnGuelph Central Station is truly disappointing. There’s no proper parking at all — even for quick drop-offs or pick-ups! The small parking area can barely fit 10 cars and is almost always full. It constantly gets jammed with vehicles, making it stressful and inconvenient.nnThe city really needs to build a proper park-and-ride lot with plenty of parking spaces for commuters. It’s surprising that in a growing city like Guelph, there’s still no adequate infrastructure to support people who want to use public transit. It honestly feels like the city doesn’t care about public comfort or convenience at all.nnThere are no public washrooms, which is unbelievable. During cold winters or rainy days when people have to wait outside, the waiting area is small and not designed for bad weather.nnThis kind of poor city planning discourages people from using public transportation — exactly the opposite of what should be happening. If cities like Guelph offered better facilities and incentives for commuters, more people would choose to live outside of overcrowded downtown Toronto and travel by train or bus.nnOverall, it’s a terribly managed station with almost no thought given to public comfort or accessibility. Sometimes it’s hard to believe this level of neglect exists in Canada!
Please enlighten me. I went to the station on Sunday afternoon. I went to the main entrance in hopes to ask staff about information as I was unfamiliar with how travelling via Go Train works and wanted real time information and updates. I noticed a staff sitting in there and waved hi and politely gestured at him to come to the door. He seemed to be on call, phone on his ear & just shook his head and rudely shooed me away with his other hand. Unprofessional behaviour.nnA simple “Sorry we’re closed and can’t help you at the moment” or something should’ve been the bare minimum.nnNo washroom Access. No shelter from the cold & snow.nnNo wonder the other reviews are not good.
Pretty on the outside, but they only open the doors for some train passengers and not others.nSeems a bit discriminatory.nWith no bathroom access almost had to relieve myself all over their front doors.
ZERO STARS. Absolutely useless and terrible train station. You can’t buy a train ticket…. AT THE TRAIN STATION. No one even works there anymore. What is going on? It wasn’t like this 2022, it was running like a normal train station does. This is a city, not even a small town. How ridiculous. We need better than this. It’s no wonder people want to drive.
Really bad managed station. Not all the doors on the train open at this station. No parking. You will have to pay for parking in downtown and walk to station.
