The idea is good but.... businesses participating are too cheap and really gives you stuff that are really not fresh...definitely more than a day!!!!. This picture is from a french bakery Nord Lyon the value of this bag was supposed to be $24 dollars lol ! After 3-4 bad experiences I think I won't even use this app again. They should just give this food for free...I am not even sure if I would even take it.
Bought items 4 times from 3 different places. It's a really good deal for good food. Sure, the food is not fresh, but they are still good to eat and a luxury. I like the current selection and I wish there were more food options. Looking forward to all the new eateries that join Too Good to Go because food waste is a very big issue.
I am addicted to this app and obsessed with its mission. I was able to win heavily discounted meals and cakes which most importantly, put a smile on my family and friends' faces. In this economy, especially in Toronto, the rising costs of food causes many people to deal with food insecurity. This company helps solve this as well as fighting food waste and decreasing C02 emissions. DO NOT listen to the negative reviews as there are plenty of restaurants on the app and hundreds of options. The interface is easy to use and purchasing a surprise food bad raises endorphins from the excitement. I am writing this review to pay it forward, as TGTG has helped me and so many. I hope this can inspire others to download and reap the rewards as I have.
I Installed the app, placed my 1st order and picked up a small plate of day old rice for $4.99 from SpiceBros in Etobicoke on Bloor. How was this an originally priced at $15 ??? A plate of rice?? Certainly I do not recommend this way of buying food as you don’t see what you are buying. Definitely not worth it.
Purchased a Tim Horton's magic bag at 589 King St East, walked 20 minutes to get there and was told by the counter staff that they didn't have any more, didn't offer an explanation other than to say it was the app. So walked 20 minutes back home empty handed, very poor experience overall.
It is a good app only thing for example Longo always shows sold out when it was never available this is with all stores I waited to see if it was open before and at the time saying sold out. I think insiders take the food at the end of day. Thanks for the response but this was posted before the incident that happened yesterday where I was upset to know my order was canceled 2 hours before I was suppose to pick it up by longo's one day ago.
To be honest I bought a few items from different stores to test the waters , and like some of the comments stated the foods were stale but the discerption explains , your getting food close to expire or 1 day old choice is yours, I buy from stores I like only on this app , I was loving the app until I ordered from a restaurant one day Meetchies when I got there they were closed it’s been 6 days I’ve left number of messages to customer service and still no refund received for that order now my messages are being ignored
I don't recommend this app or company at all. I received bad food and I send a message in the app, but they just say it's all good according to their company policy. Well their company policies are terrible. Don't even bother contacting them since they will just say some pretty words like sorry to hear that, we want to help, but then never do anything.
I saw the picture on the app and found out that the package looked good enough to save money. I wanted to check what kinds of vegetables and fruits are in the box, so I went there and asked them to show the box. The moment I saw the items, I was in shock. I came home with lots of frustration. I know there are some stores that help people provide food and their desirable minds. The store, however, I stopped by……. What’s the purpose of the owner’ s participation in TGTG?
I just picked up my first bakery order at Longos Applewood plaza. I had danishes and mini muffins and scones. I could have used the scones to play pickleball they were hard as a rock Every single thing I received is in my garbage at home. All so stale and inedible. Shame on them for giving me such disgusting items
