Story

Ground Round Waconia began construction on July 11, 2012 at 520 Cherry Drive Waconia, MN 55387. The new restaurant will be 4,812 square feet and feature a sports bar lounge and dining room. Construction will be completed later this fall with a December opening planned.

I've gone here a handful of times and been sorely disappointed every time. Ordered the steak bites like the waitress recommended the first two times. They reminded me of something out of a microwave dinner. Then went with different types of burgers the next few times. The last one I had was a Club burger on a pretzel bun with coleslaw for $15 tax. They were smaller and I've had better at dives in the past. The service was average at best. The food was below average. For the price I could eat a legit restaurant. There's a reason I haven't come back in over 2 years and won't again, and I've been in the industry my whole life.

The food was great! The server could be a little better, but not bad. Remember world class service as found on a cruise ship

When I got my food, the fries were cold, most of them burnt and were old. I told the waitress and she took 2 of the fries off my plate (1 of which I half ate) and ate them in front of me! Disgusting! She agreed with me and offered me fresh fries, but I declined as I didn’t want her to sample any more of my food. This place used to be good, but I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

A decent restaurant with good selection of burgers. They also have a good gluten free menu. This is important our family because our daughter has celiac. She experienced no ill effects, which tells me that the kitchen takes care during the cooking of her food. Which through experience is not always the case at other restaurants offering GF meals.

Atmosphere is all bar and grill with a decent separation of the two. Enjoy the meals. Pasta and sauces are usually great, meats are cooked well while remaining tender. However their spicing tastes like it sat in a humidor, nor sure if they just aren't fresh, or if they are rehydrated, but they really need to take a look at their type and use of spices.
