"The Grey Silo Golf Club was the original home of the LPGA’s Manulife Classic, and hosted this professional event for three years. Grey Silo presents golfers with 18 breathtaking holes of championship golf. The links style course has gained an outstanding reputation, and respect from players of all abilities. The Grand River Valley, coupled with an unspoiled environment, creates a setting for the game that is one of a kind. The Steve Young design Batteaux Creek is very clever in its architecture. Wide landing areas exist for the player who wants to be cautious, but pushing for birdies can land the ball in a heap of trouble. As a result, golfers of all abilities find Grey Silo both challenging and a pleasure to play."

Stunning course, and meticulously maintained. We played 9 holes starting at 5:30pm. Even with sunglasses, on a clear day the light conditions make play quite difficult, especially because many of the holes are facing the setting sun. My only suggestions would be: 1 rent a cart. There are some very long walks between holes! Especially from the Halfway house back to the parking lot. 2 on a few occasions it was difficult to know where the next hole was especially if you are new to the course. All in all, I can't wait to golf all 18 holes and earlier in the day ; Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!!
Actually, I only walked the delightful, shared-with-golf-carts trail which runs through the golf course from RIM sports complex. My mobility-scooter-friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the all-paved, winding trail which often skirts the river. I can't rank the golf course as we were not there for that, but all the golfers looked very happy, so even though I'm sure not all of them were playing at par, it must be a good course... and it does look superb and well-kept.
Overall its a very nice course. Quite open with lots of room for mistakes. But nice and long course. Course was in great shape. This was the first time playing this course so i was taken aback with the public jogging chatting and laughing on the paths as you play not that i need peace and quiet, but just not used to it. Also sharing the cart path was a challenge today, some folks felt the golf cart needs to move for joggers. Marshall was fantastic and really on top of groups that were slow. one item that I would like to see changed is that walking pair should not be playing with cart pair.. its a long course for guys in carts to wait.
Played Grey Silo yesterday September 5th and it is in great shape as always. Plenty of rain lately has kept the course green, fairways soft, and rough is lush. Greens are rolling true but aren’t so firm that approach shots are bounding off. Pace of play is best in the morning. Staff are outstanding and friendly. One of my favourite golf courses in the area every year.
We just had our wedding here on Sept 24 and the whole process from start to finish was absolutely incredible. The venue itself was gorgeous, the food was perfect and the staff were amazing. Rochelle was phenomenal, she took care of everything, including helping coordinate a helicopter landing for our reception entrance. We can't say enough good things about this place!
My wife and I just hosted our wedding at Grey Silo and it was amazing through and through. Rochelle the venue coordinator was fantastic and made sure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious and we received compliments throughout the night to back it up. The venue itself is beautiful and didn't need too many decorations to make the space feel special. We recommend some Edison string lights to really add a special feel. Also the late night perogies were to die for. Overall we loved this venue for our wedding and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested!
Played here with my staff from another local golf course and the course was in excellent condition!! Yes there is a few burnt out spots on fairways and rough but we did just have the second driest summer on record in the region. The greens were in great shape and rolled well. Thanks for a great day!!
Not worthy of the price. Year after year, the greens are horrendously SLOW. Still living off the reputation that they hosted the LPGA, which was several years ago. No metal woods allowed on the brown drought striken hitting range.
Great course with some difficult holes but generous fairways. Taking a cart is a good idea since there is a fair hike from the club house to first hole and between some holes.
Really enjoyed our round. Played with a one armed man and his wife! Great people and both good golfers. Truly enjoyed their company.
