It was a good place for hiking as it has various hiking trails and the hiking trail level is "easy". The best place about this area is surrounded by nature and wood, so if you're a nature person this is a good gateway for hiking. Furthermore, it has spacious and free parking. In addition to this, it is suitable for group-age kids. Lastly, if you have a drone, it is a good place to fly a drone and capture some great nature pictures.
Gave it a 4/5 solely because the maintenance of the trails/ signage needs some work. Other than that, what a great way to spend a beautiful sunny fall day then trekking through some wonderful trails. There was a number of different trails and routes you could take along the way. Each one unique in there own way. I would say on average the trail could last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hrs.
This conservation area is a mix of paved trails, forest trails, open spaces and picnic areas. Trails are well labeled according to difficulty and are well marked so you don't get lost. One can also go fishing for salmon during the salmon run season, late summer and early fall.
Great place to go for a walk in the evenings. Was not too much crowded on a Saturday evening.A nice conservation area with some good trails, picnic areas and a small playground for kids.. Though the parking is limited,it is free.
Very large conservation area for hiking. See one of my photos for the map. This is the West entrance parking lot. Lots of dogs as it is an off leash dog park. You can spend hours and hours here. If you hike in far enough, you will hit the river. You may see salmon running in the fall. Very clean. Don't forget what you take in please bring out. No garbage cans inside the park, but in the parking lot there is. Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs all sizes and shapes. Owners all seem pretty decent with their dogs.
When I visited on a weekday afternoon, the free parking lot was quite crowded but still managed to find a space. There are a few trails of varying difficulty easy to moderate. Nice place to spend an afternoon.
This is one massive res where one can take the dog off the leash and let it run miles in both open areas, and trails that lead absurdly everywhere and over to various cliffs, followed by a choice between some very steep lined with safety ropes from tree to tree to moderately steep decents. The river has a good current and runs until it's extremely cold, and the banks that line it are great. Some banks are sand filled, others just trails. Wear your winter boots or gripped boots for sure. If it's warm out you'll be muddy. It's well worth the walk. Give yourself 90 minutes minimum to have a proper experience. The creek is called dufferens creek and it runs through many conserved areas.
If you love nature this is the place. But plenty of mosquito . Watch for downstream river steep. One can easily fall
Wonderful place to walk and breeze in and out the fresh air. The trails are devised according to the level of activity that you are going to perform.
Beautiful place for the pups. There are lots of trails in Ajax but only one that dogs can go to. This place is a gem for all dog owners in Ajax.
