Property management usually means little more than fill a unit with someone and collect rent. Rarely does one meet the extraordinary, especially in real estate. Greenaway is that rare exception. We are an American couple who live in Washington State. We have owned a condo in Sooke since 2005 that we have rented out almost continuously since, sometimes using property managers but mostly running it ourselves out of frustration with the mediocre service that seems to be the norm for property management. Last spring, we found Kirsten and Clive Greenaway. They are the total package. They use extensive screening to find quality tenants and handle renovations and repairs with great results. They make smart use of technology. Each client has a web portal to view all items done during a month and also, make rent deposits odirectly into our account. We like this couple and their company. They communicate with great ease and have delightful sense of humor and maturity. They have given us total peace of mind. They are the best we have ever encountered, by far. Being a member of the Canadian Forces purchasing a house involves certain unique challenges that most home buyers don’t necessarily have to face. I was given a week to travel to Victoria/Sooke to find a place before my official move with my family and all our belongings less than 2 months later. Needless to say, I had to find a realtor who was competent, trustworthy and most of all, caring. Having done my homework, I settled on a handful of agents who I interviewed early on in my trip, however it was by chance that I got to know Clive when I walked through an open house that he was hosting. That house didn’t strike a chord with me, but having spent that little bit of time with Clive, I knew he was the man I wanted to work with to find our ideal place. A day later Clive and Kirsten showed us the home that we fell in love with and then the hard work of finalizing the purchase began. The next day I had to return to my place of duty in Quebec not knowing who was going to do my home inspection, wood stove's WETT Inspection or which lawyer to trust to close the deal. Clive and Kirsten got to work the moment we finished the viewing, drafting the purchase contract and having us review everything via email from the hotel. They were working with the sellers' agent well into the night as I remember signing the final draft of the contract at around 11pm. Besides helping us find home inspectors and a lawyer and even making the inspection appointments for us, from the moment I met Clive until we received the keys, we felt that Clive and Kirsten had dedicated their professional lives to making sure our purchase went smoothly and we got the best deal without errors, surprises or delays. They would reply to my minutest of inquiries promptly and follow up with the sellers to get answers or resolve any issues even after I had forgotten about them. Clive and Kirsten each have their strengths and when you go with one, you get the team. What else can you ask for from a professional team like the Greenaways?
