Very nice establishment. I did feel that my meal didn't quite have the flavor I was expecting. I had a pasta with vodka sauce & really couldn't tell if that was what I ordered. Drinks were great. Wait staff very kind. Loved that my drink had a little piglet in it!
This is such a cute little restaurant. I apologize for not taking a picture of the front of the restaurant and the menu. Dove right into ordering. Everything from appetizers to pizza was delicious. The calamari was just the right amount of calamari and batter. The roasted cauliflower was *chefs kiss*. The prosciutto pizza was something I’ve never tried before. On the menu while I was reading the ingredients, I thought it would be too salty. To my surprise, the hint of honey taste when you bite into the pizza was tongue twisting. The mixture of flavors, which I didn’t expect, really pulled everything on this pizza pie together. Definitely going back for more.
I have tried at least 20 restaurants in New Haven and this is by far the worst without doubt. It was around 5pm and there weren't many diners. The bartender didn't greet with warmth. I ordered a salad and spaghetti, and they both took a long time to come. I felt offended when the spaghetti came before the salad and there wasn't a spoon with it. I asked for the spoon, and got a cute, little one which obviously was meant for disserts. The meatballs tasted dry. Perhaps they sat in the fridge for a little bit too long. The worst part came when the bartender started to whistle and dance with the music in front of me when I was eating. They earned a star for the salad. That tasted good. But there is no way for me to visit for a second time.
Went here for brunch as most of the people locally have mixed feelings about the location. Drinks are excellent, and the drinks and brunch mimosas are worth a try if you are here in the morning! Although the drinks were great, the food needs a major upgrade. The steak and eggs may be a but dry, and alot of the other dishes like the breakfast risotto seem to lack salt or much seasoning. I recommend coming for morning coffee or drinks, as the servers are really attentive and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable!
I tried Olives and Oil for the first time after hearing great things about it from multiple people. The cocktails were amazing, everyone in our group tried a different one. We ordered multiple appetizers because we couldn't decide, they all sounded so good. The warm olives and arancini were my favorite. We also tried the brussel sprouts and garlic spread which were also good. For my entree I ordered the shrimp scampi which was delicious. Not a huge portion but definitely enough. My gf ordered the seafood fra diavlo. They brought it out without the calamari in it. We mentioned it to our server and the quickly brought over a heaping plate of it in sauce. Overall it was a great experience I'd go back and try other items. Definitely not an inexpensive meal if thats what your looking for.
Good place to hangout with friends. Don't forget to try their 'The Notorious PIG' drink. Food was good, our server was friendly. If you’re planning to visit near Yale University, this is a must-go place.
Cool place! We stopped in for their Happy Hour for a few drinks before a concert. Cocktails were awesome! We got the Notorious P.IG. And the Lavender 75, both were delicious. The P.I.G came with a little rubber squeak pig that we just had a blast with the rest of the night. I forget our bartenders name, we came on Wednesday 3/22 around 4:30p, she was very nice and drinks were great. Definitely recommend stopping in for a few cocktails next time your in the area.
Great ambiance, great food. Rice balls were so damn good i wanted to slap the chef. Antonia was our server and she was so polite and knowledgeable about not only the food menu but also the drink menu as well. She was very attentive and it seemed she was actually teaching a new staff about menu items and drinks. She was a doll. The Dj was very good also and played some really good hits. I know that can be subjective but for me and my group it was everything. The drinks were also very well made. We will definitely visit our next time in CT. Kid-friendliness: They were very nice to my niece and even brought her paper to draw on.
Have been twice so far and both times have had great food/drink! Very clean and welcoming environment - would recommend!
Went here for a nice date with my wife. Was not the kind of place we wanted for the occasion. The good: Food was excellent! Waitress was very good even with issues going on. I was debating fewer stars, but the food pulled up my rating. The bad: Very short staffed. Two waitresses were handling the whole restaurant and were obviously overwhelmed. Even though they were apologetic and amazing, they didn’t have time to check in on us regularly. Extremely rowdy bar. Swearing and yelling with a bar full of drunks. NOT family friendly at all and NOT a place to have a nice dinner. Kitchen was very behind. As in, we had to wait over an hour for food. When the food did come, one of our dinners was incorrect. Thankfully our waitress fixed the issue and corrected our meal within a few minutes. Still very upsetting after waiting an hour. In summary: Do not go here for a nice dinner or with kids. Food is amazing, but the drinking and partying crowd is 100% the target audience. Will try other locations hoping I can actually hold a conversation during dinner. Kid-friendliness: NOT KID FRIENDLY. Lots of drunks, swearing, and yelling. Parking: Paid parking only
